He was wrong for what he did on Bally's day, that was one of the most disrespectful things to have ever done, however, the stick the lad had got and the way he has matured certainly has turned me more to him.

You can see he is desperate to put a blue shirt on again. And the booing of him now is more panto than anything and he knows that.

He'l be back.

I was going to say that. Last seasons game when they won 0-1 after the initial boo there was just a general bit of booing going on.

If we are still in financial **** in 5-6 years time he could afford to buy the club and play in goal if he felt like it

Wayne Rooney â€￾@WayneRooney

Good luck to hibbo in his testimonial tomorrow. He deserves it. Gutted i cant play. Was desperate to aswell. All the best hibbo

I'd love to see him back.
He was 18, spoilt and a bit of a [Poor language removed]. He's not the first footballer to have his head turned with all the money involved.
Once a Blue, Always a Blue - isn't he still a Blue? granted one playing for Utd.

Let's put it this way, you have a job you love, at a place you really enjoy working, and someone offers you 3 times more to go and do the same job with them.....and you'll get to do some amazing jobs that you wouldn't have chance at your current place of work.....can anyone here say that they wouldn't go?

18 and being a stubborn scouse [Poor language removed], and you're getting abuse of people, what do you do? take it, or give some back? He's made some stupid spur of the moment decisions, who hasn't? He's upset some people, again, who hasn't? Every single one of them has been magnified.
What was that now?

He's a scally scumbag who got lucky in life, but i'd love to see him in a blue shirt again as he's a boss player of the togger variety.

you're saying he wasn't? Think about any scouse 18 year old, give them abuse and what are they going to do.

What Sheedy posted earlier in the thread should not be forgotten.Rooney behaved badly and it is likely that he was encouraged by his own family to go with Stretford and get his move to Utd.We all know that Stretford is scum anyway so we wouldn't expect anything better from him. From things that have been said since the transfer inside and outside of court it does appear that Rooney was difficult to handle and seemed to consider himself too big for Everton.I have always felt that he would be a better player now if he stayed for another season or two at Everton. At Utd he has become just another link in the chain and on the world football stage Rooney has acheived very little. We rarely see the flair and inventiveness that he showed as a younger player.

All that being said,I do think that Rooney has matured well.He does seem popular with fellow professionals and former teammates and if he decided to come back while still at his best then he would be very welcome.I don't want a slow, ageing Rooney back at Everton for a few sentimental games before he retires.

He keeps saying he still looks out for our results, and he did buy his kid an Everton top. But there was no reason at all for the badge-kissing and jumping around in front of the Park End when he played against us at Goodison.

Firstly the badge kissing really hit me and a lot of others, I think because we saw him as one of us and we could really identify with him and to watch him mock us wasn't easy to take . It certainly contrasted with the likes of Cahill (taking dogs abuse from the millwall fans) declined to even celebrate when he scored agains them. It wasn't an isolated incident either , but that said its obvious he's trying to move on , he seems to have grown up and is certainly making the effort to build bridges and more than that it actually seems genuine , with him trying to watch us and talking of is son being a blue. Both Rooney and us as blues seem to be moving forward and that's a good thing . what happened upset me as frankly I felt a bit let down but it certainly seems clear the relationship is Changing and I'm glad , sometimes when you split up with someone there's a bit of nastiness, childish behaviour and anger but in the end it goes and you get to a level where you realise you've been stupid to waste energy on it and move on , ou can forgive but you should never forget .

I understand this perception but I think it really doesn't stand up. Rooney and his family had had an agent (Peter McIntosh ) for years and the fella considered himself a family friend . It was Rooney and the Rooneys that were speaking to Stretford behind his agents back (this isn't speculation it's fact and came out in court) , other people (known to me) were ringing Peter Mac and telling I'm what was going on and that the talks were taking place because the player and his family didn't think the previous agent was big enough to handle the inevitable moves to united who were interested. The agents ringing McIntosh weren't doing it to be nice they were doing it because they wanted him to bring Rooney to them as he family had their heart set on a move but the agent wouldn't believe his 'friends' would do it to him , he was wrong and was discarded missing out on a payday after having npbeen with the family for years. It wasn't Stretford telling Rooney to go to united ,it was the Rooneys speaking to Stretford because they wanted the united move. I'll never forget Rooney asked who is biggest influences were not even a year after going to United he said his family, ferguson and Stretford, the person that hurt the most was Colin harvey who had been coaching/helping/supporting the player for years. Rooney going may have saved the club financially , it may have been a 'brilliant' move for Rooney and made Stretford a fortune but the Rooneys knew what they were doing and nobody pushed them into the move they were the ones doing all the running.

Brilliantly put, concise too.

This is the lad you're all saying has matured? He was banging escorts whilst his missus was pregnant with his first son for f*cks sake.
