Ball was sold as he asked to leave, Catterick was never a fan of Young, amazing isn't it?
Ball asked to leave?
I never knew that.

Yes. Ex-players and before we had managers committees ran the club.Is that really true?
Coaches players doesn't he? I'd hoped he could come in and coach our back four to make it a solid foundation to continue to play our attacking football on.
That hasn't turned out to be the case. All he's done is shifted the whole team back 20 yards. That's not great for £6m per season really is it?
It means everything: the only managers we've had who won a trophy have been ex players.

That's not true mate.Dave, you're supposed to be giving him the season but fairly criticising things along the way. You have accidentally slipped into "slate him for everything" mode and the mask has slipped off
up your game you big moany lemon face
I read an ex player, cant remember who, said it was more a case of he had to leave, gambling issues he said.
I have heard whispers of gambling......and I know Bally liked to play the horses.
But if a player adds for a transfer he doesn't get a cut of the fee as far as I know.
Maybe he needed away from bad influences on Merseyside.
I too heard that years ago, such a shame that the gee-gees cost us the services of one the games all-time greats.I read an ex player, cant remember who, said it was more a case of he had to leave, gambling issues he said.
Perhaps a valid point. But his passing skills are great and his vision is top notch. From what I have seen he is a tremendous prospect. The only slight concern I have about Davies is that he seems a bit slow, I am only going by what I have seen on tv and hope someone can show I'm wrong!
It does seem expensive. Works out at 300 grand a yard.Coaches players doesn't he? I'd hoped he could come in and coach our back four to make it a solid foundation to continue to play our attacking football on.

The stories of players (not Everton to my knowledge, a club shall we say within an hours drive) betting £5k on the turn of a card on the coach trip to away games are well known in Manchester.Gambling has taken a lot of good players down. Think it was Andy King, who suffered from it, put it rather well when he said that with the ale, you go in a pub with £100, get bladdered, still have £50. Go in a bookies with £10k, you lose the lot.
