Ronald Koeman discussion

Yes they do. I agree. So how is it laughable?

All this pressing using quality players in midfield and attack like its the mission statement of some Texas cult.

I don't buy into it.
You continue to defend a manager who couldn't do the basics mentioned above like organize a defence and practice corners. But you have an agenda against a manager who has had 13 games with mostly last seasons team and you seem more concerned about what he says in the press and twitter.

Give me honesty any day of the week rather that the crap we were sold for the last few years

It doesn't, but it's not throwing the players under the bus. It's telling the truth. He's said the performances haven't been good enough and that kind of implies that it's an all-round thing, but at the end of the day he's been here 13 games and it's pretty evident that some of these players aren't capable of playing the 'high intensity, aggressive' game that he wants and is demanding - therefore the players are the issue in this instance.
Well said. If anything, Koeman is singing from the same hymn sheet as most of us. Aggression, pace and pride has been sadly lacking from our 5th league game on.

Ronald Koeman is liaising regularly with David Unsworth over the players who are under the wing of the Blues’ Under-23 coach.

Mason Holgate started the Premier League season in the first team and Tom Davies has also seen first-team action, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mateusz Hewelt both making the matchday squad against West Ham United.

The Everton boss receives regular updates from Unsworth about the progression of the players in his group, with regulars Gethin Jones, Kieran Dowell, Callum Connolly and Jonjoe Kenny also having made their first team debuts previously. All are regularly involved in first team training.

“We have a lot of contact with David Unsworth and we see a lot of the Under-23 games,” Koeman said. “It is still a bit early for them and they need more experience and competition, but we have good talents and they will get chances.

“At the moment I think the situation with the first team is not the best to put them in. We need more experienced players and more personality to change this situation right now.

“If you put young players in the starting line-up, you know that they are ready. We have some good, talented young players but if you put one in the first team, he needs support. You don’t just put him in for one game – it is for a long time.”

The Under-23s currently sit atop the Premier League 2 table, with only two defeats in the league all season.

Koeman and his staff have been in attendance for a number of their fixtures and they have caught his eye with a number of notable performances, while some youngsters have regularly been involved in first team training sessions.

“I’ve been very impressed,” he added. “I know we always want to win but [for the Under-23s] it’s not the most important thing. The most important thing is to get players ready for the first team.

“Every week they are really involved in training, they understand how we like to play and how we like to work in sessions. They get involved in lots of first-team training sessions and they are improving.

“Obviously, it’s great for them to be winning games because it gives the young boys confidence to finally go and provide competition for places.”

Dave isn't really going on about how much better Martinez is though, to be fair to him, he's mostly just saying that he doesn't like Koeman

I think even Dave will admit that it was time for Martinez to go. He's just not happy with his replacement, as is his right

FWIW, I think Koeman is better than this recent run shows and he has my support, but I'll be honest and say I'm not warming to him as a person

At the end of the day though, that's not really important if he goes on to be successful

The way he's being though demands that he be successful, because he doesn't have the nice guy act to fall back on like his predecessor

Basically, Koeman makes a rod for his own back 99% of the time

Again though, he has my full backing and I won't be remotely arsed about his gruff Dutchness if he brings success to the club

I do wish he'd make more of the youth set up though, that's my only complaint about him thus far, the rest of the stuff people are angered up by doesn't really matter at the end of the day

I think Ronnie will need a very good FA cup draw to stand a chance of rescuing any goodwill from this season

Lose this weekend and the Koemoyes out campaign begins properly

Why?

There's two youth players that are ready - Holgate and Davies.

Both have been in the first-team squad all season - Holgate having featured in every matchday squad so far.

None of the others look anywhere near good enough yet.
Walsh is also surely worth a run out in Barry's place. We are sorely lacking a deep lying playmaker although Barkley may well blossom there. If he learns how to tackle of course like.

Take you points and I am backing him.
As for Dave it's amusing
