Ronald Koeman discussion

Unless we drop our asking price he won't be going nowhere, no one wanted him last year and they certainly won't pay stupid money this summer. If we drop the price then that's on our board and no one else.

there were many, many reports of a Chelsea bid and no denials from Chelsea or Conte that this was the case. Chelsea didn't qualify for Europe which may have motivated Lukaku to stay with Koeman and Everton. I think it will be a different scenario if Lukaku impresses this season and Koeman talking him up for a Madrid or Barcelona may have sent waves around Europe. We must not also forget who Lukaku's agent is. I think he is going this summer and I think he will rake in a massive fee.

Stones was allowed to go this summer
Lukaku next summer
Barkley the following summer

That will be bring in the vast majority of Everton's spending for this and the following two seasons.

Apparently we have a billionaire now and the days of sell to buy are well and truly over....
There is a difference between maximising profit from players that want to leave than having to sell to buy.

I think RK has dropped his biggest hint yet that real investment in the team is expected. Enough with the we may spend up to £100m, we almost spent £60m speil.

"we like to show Everton will grow, we will be bigger... if we stay at this level then of course it is not good... If we show the club are growing and we invest..."

Some disappointed folk on here after the presser I'd say. no ammunition for them to spend next 36 hours giving out about when they should be looking forward to match day.
Let's see how the team react and how the manager sets us up.

If we are honest with ourselves, there is very little chance of Everton winning the League in any of our life times.
I suggest we will still be at Goodison when the youngest current GOTer finally pops his clogs.
And I have got very bad feelings about this weekends game. Everton tends to struggle when they are forced to play under the slightest pressure of expectation. We will succumb to the pressure ( of course) and I see Swansea winning this 2-0

But looking into the future, there is still plenty to be optimistic about and I do think some Evertonians are a little too much inclined toward purveying doom and gloom.
