Once we've sold bolasie for £5m , Sig for £8m and released Rooney the new manager will have plenty of options

Don't be daft. He's probably the safest manager in the league!

I don't agree.
Not saying it's right but, too much money has been spent for results not to matter. There are only a few jobs where the manager is safe. The role of being manager of an ambitious club looking to champs league is not one of them.

I would say Tim is right.....bar some catastrophic run of form which sees us mired in relegation trouble come December, Koeman is safe as houses.

To me, Moshiri and Koeman are morphing into Kenwright and Moyes.

Recent events indicate to me that Moshiri now seems more concerned with keeping the club in the EPL comfort zone to protect his investment and Koeman's task seems to be to keep us ticking along to enable this to happen.

The only thing which surprises me is that there was no talk of a contract extension for Koeman this summer.

But I bet that is because Koeman has let Moshiri know he is staying not one minute longer than his three year deal.

Not sure Koeman would be happy treading water, because it doesn't get him his big job.
Don't think Moshiri would think a mid table position is acceptable either.
Who knows..its football!

Nah. Koeman and Walsh were given free reign in this summer to change the team and this is Step One. Playing in Europe, in the CL conversation. Another boss window (no indication that Koeman and Walsh won't have a big purse again) and with Bramley Moore in the offing, heady days at Everton. Absent a traditional European powerhouse coming calling, I don't see Koeman running for the hills.

Well Koeman now has hell of a lot more money to spend than what both Moyes and Martinez had.Of course catching up with the elite sides will take time. But while we might have learned to make do with 7th place and hoof ball under Mister Moyes, i don't think it will cut it now that we have the finances to aim for better. So by year three of this project we need to see signs that we are close to cracking the top 4 and becoming top 4 regulars. So i think there is pressure on Koeman.Im not sure he will stick around after the third year either.I think Southampton fans will tell you how loyal Ronald Koeman is!He's not a man for warmth and feeling is he?Koeman just strikes me as a very clinical man who just see's us as another club on his CV.

I doubt that mate, I really do. We could win every game convincingly and the same people would still be out looking to find fault with anything and everything.
Koeman has come close to winning some big games, but so far he only managed to beat City and Arsenal at home. Nobody had any qualms with the way he set up for those games. I'd like to see us take Spurs to the cleaners.

To be fair he has the exact same money that moyes had.

Both sold to buy and based on our activity j the summer we attempted to achieve that again. So if moyes or Martinez sold a 90 million pound player then probably would have spent that as well.

Moyes had to endure sell to survive, plus a good few windows without making an actual signing.

Spurs haven't had a great start to the season, heard a Spurs fan saying they have been a tad sluggish and a bit dodgy at the back. We're the home team and need to take the game to them, none of this defensive, negative crap, obviously not go gung - ho, but get at them from the off
