There is no top team in Europe where he can go and become that team's no1 striker. The only ones that might take him due to their strikers maybe moving on is PSG or Bayern, back to Chelsea or possibly Arsenal but there's no way his first touch would fit into their game. The lad and his agent just need a reality check there is absolutely no rush for him to move on, especially given the direction we are going. We can offer him the wages, we can offer him the play time and with the new comments the board are offering the chance to challenge for trophies with their new project. Even with our financial security I don't think there is any realistic target that could replace Lukaku. Loads of players have made disrespectful and Ill timed comments, no arguing he has a big ego. It would make other teams sit up and notice more if we kept him rather than cash in because of a few silly comments. Obviously a different calibre of player, but in similar circumstances Suarez basically begged the RS for a move to Arsenal and it fell through. The next season, he almost wins them a league title out of nowhere. They sold him the year after and haven't looked the same since.

Interesting that Moshiri apparently dispatched a Russian advisor to speak with Lukakus agent to tell him to cool the Lukaku sales pitch and the next minute he is stating for the first time that he could stay. You don't mess with Russian 'advisors'
