Rodwell

You have to ask the question with Rodwell playing as he is do we need an Mbia or a Delph?
I don't care how well he plays, we still need squad depth. And it's unreasonable to expect an 18-year old start every match.

Yeah id agree with that mate, still if we were pushed for a few quid rotateing between him and Neville wouldnt be the worst scenario, think Moyesy is expecting him to play 20 odd games next season.

Delph can do one really.

But I dont really know....IMO, at the momment I maybe would give Rodders a chance.

For me it goes like this..We've already signed up Jacobsen (apparantly), I'd try getting that Kyle Naughton if he's any good so we've got RB sorted.

I'd keep Neville in the mid as the DM and blood Rodwell more with Arteta.

Buying an M'bia would hinder Rodders talent...but also improve our team if he's more experienced that Rodwell...

Maybe get someone in on loan like Castillo. Our right side is priority IMO, I think we need 2 wingers or at least one that can play both (as Pienaar is off to the ACN).

But paying something like £8-10mill for M'bia would work...I just think we could already have an answer to a problem for free...

He already played almost that many games.

And I hope Neville does NOT play in the midfield any more! He can't pass water, never mind a ball to a team-mate. Put him under any pressure and he gives the ball away. And he doesn't really stamp his authority in the game. And don't even start about his shooting. It would be nice if our central midfielders could score a few goals a season..

He is ok at breaking up attacks like most defenders are but that's about it.

Yes we do. We need to have a large squad where all are in contention of a starting position when all are fit, especially if we go far in Europe and the other cups this season.

A lot of games, meens a need for a lot of players.

Totally disagree with this comment about Neville. He's hardly put a pass wrong this season. He is one of our most improved players.

Rodwell was immense at Fulham, it was as if Nev simply said, OK, I'll stay back, you run the midfield. Only Moyes knows why he didn't play him in the final in the second half.

But to answer another rodders thread. I am glad the likes of United are looking at our youngsters, because unlike them, we're bringing them through into the prem, we're getting successful and

(1) It encourages more youngster to choose us rather than them
(2) Our success answers youngsters footballing ambitions

Long may he continue in the royal blue jersey of Everton.

Surely we would all like squad depth, but how many years are we saying with it? If there is no takeover its unlikely we will see any extra bodies beyond what we have already lost naturally.

Simple fact is if it saves us a few bob focussing on the creative midfield role or the right side of the team, its an area that can wait given Rodwells progress and Nevilles versatility. You have the play the percentages with our level of funds, that said i think Neville does a good jon for a full back in DM, i dont think hes the answer there. What he does do is the simple things well and allows more skillfull and techniuqly gifted players to show there wares. he compliments what we have well.

Should also be intresting to see how Moyes accomadates Cahill and Fellaini next year, even assuming there are no additions for the central midfield slots.

in the maximum of 2 years time, he will be a regular England starter without a doubt.

He will go on to own the 2014 World Cup.

No way Moyes parts with Rodwell - his ceiling is way too high and if Everton are to sell him, it'll be after he's gotten some regular Premier League experience, proven his worth and fetch a handsome fee. With Neville ageing and Arteta a possible question mark upon his return from injury in terms of his form, Rodwell is going see plenty of playing time this upcoming season and I'm excited to see it!!
