Good examples of how we massively overrate players only for them to be non-entities at challenging clubs hence why we exist rather than challenge

Arteta, Lescott, Fellaini, Barmby, Gravesen, Pienaar can be added to the list

Exactly.

Like Mr.Delph, their medals come courtesy of the efforts of others.....yer Silvas, Hazards, Aqueros, Willians, DeBruynes etc.

Yes, they made lots of dough and are indeed “living the dream” in the material sense (though let’s be honest...any player at any EPL club is earning loads and living a fabulous lifestyle)

But stone me.....the three of them would be fighting relegation happen they were playing in a team where they were at the core pulling the strings rather than bit players warming the bench.

:)

Whoever was DOF when we sold them 3 should be given a Goodsion legend award,

50mill for Stones who cant defend.
20 mill for Rodwell who cant do anything.
25 mill for Barkley who is a very modest/inconsistent footballer and cant keep chips in a tray.

All would have been set up or life whether they left or not. All have failed at their respective clubs.

It shows how difficult it is to get a top 4 or even top 6 squad together.

And how utterly ridiculous it is to think the likes of Davies/DCL/Holgate/Pickford/Bennard et al can get us there when they aint even a patch
on the previous missfits we have fraudulently sold.

£10mil not £25mil as he went in the January after a failed move the summer before.

Shows how slightly above average can stand out in our forever average squads

Except Arteta, we was genuinely a good player, did well for us and did well at Arsenal including captaining

They all went on to either win more or earn more than they did at Everton. I don’t think any of them would be particularly bothered about leaving here when they look back.
I know for a fact Rodwell regrets ever leaving, he's tried to come back to us a few times since. (member of my family knows his parents well)
