Even if the trains are driverless?
I’m not really for tech intentionally deleting entire jobs, unless they’re going to give people universal basic incomes across the board as AI / Tech takes over more and more jobs. That said I’d feel safer with a driverless train than a driverless car, with the provision they still had someone on board who could take over / stop it if the AI started doing something wrong

And another thing, I don’t want autonomous cars.

I like driving.

I’ll happily go electric, but am absolutely anti autonomy in vehicles. Cruise control is as far as I go.

I'm not sure there will be fully autonomous cars for a while yet.

I’d much prefer top notch public transport which has been properly invested in to autonomous cars

Within 20 years you will all be travelling in autonomous drones never mind cars……

Isn't that the nature of the labour market though? It evolves. We don't expect people to operate our lifts for us or put our streetlights any more, but people seem to have managed to migrate into other roles.

We're still a few steps away from that kind of autonomy to begin with, to be honest, but the prospect is frightening, isn't it?

To add to Nymz - best thing to happen is some 40k merge and we become Adeptus Mechanicus, really.
We're definitely on the 40k timeline.

However, I would point out that AI is considered heresy in the Imperium after humanity's AI rose up against them in the 22nd millennium.

The inquisition will see you shortly.

10 years ago, supposedly now we are in era of robotic nurse and doctor, yet here we are screaming at lack of free market movement or talent draining of 3rd world countries.

We're definitely on the 40k timeline.

Just wait until Henry Cavill brings it to the masses only then the imperial cult can be fully understood.

Also I'm saying we use AI to make living metal and make ourselves either the actual Imperium or Mechanicus. I see no downsides.

Living metal is the Necrons, no? After their deal with the devil went sour and they all traded their souls and flesh for eternal life as a bunch of killer robots. Either way... Heresy.

Yup, my bad, mixed them up. They also sound pretty cool, but they don't serve the Omnissiah, so swings and roundabouts...

...for the heretics.

Man I really wanna go back to reading/watching 40k lore things, it's insane and so cool.

I imagine a lot of car companies would be seriously concerned about the prospect of litigation (in the event of collisions/accidents etc.) to the point that we won’t see driverless cars becoming common place until the technology is near faultless.

Until then it will probably be the plaything of the very rich.

Being able to drive on a fairly mundane highway is a whole different kettle to navigating a busy city street. It's not even close to doing the latter and won't be for some time imo.

Could do with our players being taken over by AI commands

"Ctrl, enter, space"

Or just a "shift"

I'll get me coat
If you've faffed around with AI enough, you'll find it hard to believe Lampard wasn't getting chatgtp to come up with his game plans. Things barely any better than smarterchild was.
