would've thought the team signing the player would officially announce it first ??

I'm happy with these signings, now we can start improving the starting 11

I have heard this as well,1m permanent deal also being touted around as in last year of contract and can't get in the side due to courtois being there on loan for another year from chelsea.3 signings in 2 days whats going on.
 
1.6m Euro is an amazing price.. especially when you look at De Gea going to MUFC for £19m or whatever it was. But before I get too excited about this bargain signing.. does anybody know the details of the deal? Is there some buy-back clause for Althletico? A sell-on fee? Surely there is a catch.
 
No one else think this is actually a very good signing? Think he could push Howard for a starting place.
 
Think this could well be a great signing.

This lad was so good he kept Al Habsi out of the team when he recovered from injury. He certainly did well in the Cup Final vs Man City.

And he's only 22. Finally a good young keeper as our reserve keeper to push Howard. Not some journeyman no mark like Mucha/Wessels/Nash, here to pick up a wage for doing nothing.

A buy-back clause? Do they actually exist?

It´s a great signing if true, but a bit curious since there´s nothing official coming out of the club.
 
Athletico have announced it on their official website although no fee is mentioned. Would imagine it will be announced by everton this evening or tomorrow. Very happy with this signing. Potentially signed Howard's long term successor for very little. 6 foot 5 and has some PL experience. Whereas Alcaraz and Kone are definitely short term signings, this is very much a long term one.

Seriously though after watching him a fair bit last season, hes a keeper of serious potential, he made a few high profile mistakes starting out buut looked a serious keeper the more he played, still some ???????????? over him though, but its impressive keeping Al Habsi out of team at his age. Only kept out of the Athleticho team by De Gea and Courtios in the past and wanted first team football. This could prove a very ccanny signing and god knows we need a decent keeper. Wouldnt be surprised to see him as our new no 1.
