good to see the player keen to sign for Martinez and his coaching staff after only working with them for a short time.really hoping he'll be proper competition for Howard, and push him all the way

Happiest with this than a striker we spent £5m on.

He'll displace Howard within a couple of years and be great for us.

Howard might have to start thinking of himself as the first man to get moves rolling or he'll be on the bench very quickly.

He's been decent for us, but he's been indulged and I cant see Martinez suffering with his dips in form in the way Moyes did.

Same, seems a much better deal to me and the only one I'm relatively happy with so far.

To balance that out before being jumped on for being a misery arse, I'm hoping to be VERY happy with the next signing(s) in the coming weeks.

He'll win the dancing at the Xmas Party

Did he have any real sustained dips though? Sure he's dropped the odd clanger here and there, most keepers do.

But generally he's been pretty sound.

I agree. There's been plenty of times that he'd earned a spell on the bench, but he had no real competition so was never challenged . Hopefully this lad can provide a genuine threat to his place

Seem to remember he had a series of howlers at one point, but he came through it. He's certainly a decent GK, but I hope he's kept on his toes this season with this signing. He only has to look at what happened to Al Habsi.

I'm sure he'll get some game time pre-season so it'll be interesting to watch him.

Will turn out to be a good signing IMO. 6ft 5", slim'ish, agile keeper that can play out from goal as he as good technique, will eventually take over from Howard and be a good No. 1 for us.

Yeah he made that mistake vs Spurs but tell me of a top goalie or any goalie for that matter that doesn't make a kstake here or there. Weve got are very own experienced keeper that makes the odd one!. Reina at the sh!te did against us to allow AJ to score, Seaman, De Gea, Flowers, the Arsenal goalie or goalies should I say, etc, etc.

Its fair to say im quite pleased with this bit of business, same with Alcaraz, think he'll be a good squad player and his signing may allow us to get rid of Heitinga so we can use whatever fee we fetch in for him towards more signings?!.

By all accounts Guilleme Balague as said were favourites to sign Deulofeu on loan from Barca aswell and he doesn't usually spout sh!te!.

i wopuldn't be suprised if he is our number 1 keeper at the start of the season

Can't see that. Martinez will give the established players the opportunity to hold onto their shirts IMO & the keepers jersey us more important than just the shirt, as the back 4 need to know & have confidence in their keeper. I think Howard will keep his place for the KO
