Roberto Martinez discussion

There's always 'a big few weeks coming up'. He's still here and will be for the foreseeable regardless of the 'big few weeks coming up'.

Look, the feller has presented the most entertaining brand of football on a week to week basis in the country. Evertonians and non-Evertonians accept that. He's bought 2 of the most promising young players in European football and has developed two more of them that he inherited. We're scoring goals by the bucket load. We have scored the most open play goals of any team in the PL. His team has been the most consistent domestic cup team of the season, and we lie about 5 points off a definite EL spot and probably a lot less than that if the places are handed to those below 5th spot.

Because of all that, this feller is in about as an impregnable a position as you can be in this game.

Throw a window open onto the world. Posting stuff on a forum and having it 'liked' by about 10 other people seems to be giving you a false impression of reality.
.
you do yourself no favours with posts like that, Dave. Your post count must be HUGE and you're very proud of the likes you've received. Not a doubt about that.

Off topic like ...

Lads
I think you can debate this subject without getting bitchy about it.

Prove me right ?

:coffee:

I didn't think my post was too bad, I was just defending a previous post and complementing Dave.

But fair enough.

Too late.
Actually it was the bit where you told Dave he wasn't stupid that set my wind-up senses tingling.

Bravo brava, pure theatre.

Why are the 40k in Goodison never far from booing his every move them when they've feasted on the best football in the country for 2 and a half seasons?

Let me save you the time: Young, entitled, unrepresentative, FIFA, Moyes, not going anywhere.

Reading between the lines in your first paragraph:

'Its always a big few weeks for Martinez and results have been crap and it hasn't effected his position and if results continue to be crap he will be here regardless' -weak shout.

I'm not intertained by Everton this season and if you and these majority of Evertonians are, then happy pills are being consumed prematch.

Boasting being in a quarter final and getting dumped out of a semi, boasting about being 5 points of a europa spot. Jesus. I'd say you get murdered by kopites (I'll thank you) talking football. Please tell me you don't ever go on with them like you do on here.

You have to say that if we finish bottom half again, the last two seasons would have to go down as one of the great premier league failures. No one in the league would touch him after that. Top clubs will not be interested if you can't get a tune out of this team, bottom clubs will not take the risk of relegation after seeing how close he flirted with it last year even with a 30 mill striker upfront. This is why I say the next few months are crucial. Floating in bottom half blaming everything else and promising the world next season will not cut it.

They're frustrated that the football is not getting the result it deserves, not because they dont agree with everyone in the country that we play great attacking football. You're not seriously suggesting that we dont are you? You're in a small minority if you are.

I'd like to know, with some detail, what he is getting wrong? I'd be the first to admit I'm not an expert on the intricacies of football tactics. However we play fantastic football and man by man our team is brilliant, it's difficult for an ignoramus like me to understand why we don't win more games.
I think Roberto deserves another season. He has assembled a great squad. What do his critics say he should do differently?
