Roberto Martinez discussion

Big few weeks for el coco coming up.

The cult have done themselves proud this past week though. @davek with his 'performance > results' speech. Another one comparing Guardiola's Bayern surrendering a 2 goal lead at Juve to Martinez's Everton. @BlueToff proudly claiming we are 'well in with a shot at a top half finish'. Then we've had the mind numbingly boring analysis of every game we've dropped points in, how we were robbed by bad luck, whereas every game we won was pure 100% managerial genius. Amazing, who'd have thought that could happen to one team over 2/3 of a season? The little 5 games of our choosing sample to include a trip to Carlisle of all places was absolute gold made all the funnier by the fact that our last 5 league games include losses at home to Pulis and a manager less Swansea

To top it all though it had to be @davek still banging the hilarious drum that 'we are consistently playing the best football in the league'.

Keep going lads. This is pure theatre. No one can question your dedication, you've really turned up here. Nil Satis lads Nil Satis

Clearly not. But 100% it was a mightily more entertaining season than the 'Champions League' season. That will be the CL that lasted 180 minutes beginning to end.
100%???

Blinded by Martinez

That was a great season, the Derby Victory, the Bolton game Prior to Christmas and one of the best Goodison Atmospheres of the PL era against UTD.

If you're saying it was 100% more entertaing than than that 04/05 season then your bias knows no bounds.

Ok, maybe 80%.
Not biased at all....I had time for Moyes, but I prefer Martinez approach. Very simply a preference. It's ok to gave a preference Ian, just as you have a preference for disliking Martinez and using statistics.

Personally I was more entertained at the home game against United that season than possibly the next ten years combined. I like winning though, so maybe I'm a bit odd.
The next ten years was roughly a 3:1 ratio of Martinez: Moyes. So, you were bored with the vast majority of both managers efforts.

It's was the 100% that got me even 80 is way too high, not once did he replicate the atmospheres of that season.

It's simply a heart v head thing this for me.

Heart - it would be great if Everton were boss under Roberto and were up near the top of the league winning matches by playing a brand of exciting football.

Head - it ain't going to happen.

Experience would suggest that you should never let your heart rule your head as your head usually is right in the end.

Just to point out one of the many things wrong with that post, Swansea's game against us what actually the first one they had under their new manager.

But hey, when have facts ever got in the way of your argument :)
