Roberto Martinez discussion

13 goals in 3 games against the bottom 3. He was right most of the home games have been awful.
Agree that the Swansea and West Brom games were poor and the Liverpool game drab but which other home games did you think were awful?

Despite being beaten, I thought the Man City and Stoke games were entertaining, didn't watch Leicester so can't comment on that one but it seemed like a lot was going on at least! Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa and Sunderland were all fun wins, whilst Spurs we were poor in the first half but the second we improved a lot.

We played better football under Moyes.

Sorry but we did, not all the time, but Moyes knew how to win ugly and how to win with style.
That's because Moyes is a much better manager who can mix it up when needed.

The fact that one of the biggest clubs in the world wanted him and not Bobby proves this.

I'd suggest you watch some of our goals that we've scored this season then mate.

If you think that's 'turgid' then I'd question your idea of good football tbh...

I don't consider that watching the ball fly into our own net time and time again good football. Or 60+ minutes of side ways passes. Or Howard doing break-dancing moves on his own line.

I have been critical of Martinez, but I don't think this season you can criticise the style of football. You can criticise Martinez for his stubbornness in selecting howard and Kobe for weeks on end, when their form merited them not being in the squad let alone the first 11. Also the way we have defended. But some of the football produced by del, rom and Barkley in particular has been very impressive. We are amongst the top scorers in the league and I know stats are sometimes misleading, but it suggests we have played some good attacking football this season. Sadly our defence has leaked goals for fun (up until recently anyway) and hence we find ourselves languishing in mid table.

More often than not, especially away from home, we went for an ugly 0-0 and came away with an even uglier 0-1 loss....Moyes was the master of dour when the team played away. I can recall probably two aways where we were good to watch....Nuremburg away and Villa away, other than that it was like un-anaethetised extraction.

Norwich 1-1
United 0-3
Dag and Red 2-0
Palace 1-1 too.

No it's not. Liverpool got Brendan after others turned them down. Jose hates Liverpool.

Manu could have had their pick of some of the best around and picked Moyes. Martinez wasn't even on their list.

SAF picked his pal....it backfired.....he got a simple gig at Sociedad....it didn't work out.....there's not a huge queue of Europes elite, or even Europes also-rans waiting for his signature. Maybe he can continue Pulis' fine work at WBA.

How easily people forget Fortress Goodison and how easily we used to spank City home and away even with their vast resources.
