Roberto Martinez discussion

We needed fresh legs in midfield as well as up top, but didn't really have anyone due to Besic being injured and no Gibson on the bench.

Personally I wanted Kev on for Cleverley around 65/70 minute mark.

It didn't happen and in the end didn't effect the game, so all good in the end.

Nope, it's not just you at all.

But, my point is valid and I stand by it.

I was screaming for him to make a sub yesterday when w were under the cosh and it's things like that I wish he'd change.

But to say he hasn't looked to change his style at all is blatantly wrong mate.

No, it's just your opinion. Other people hold different opinions. Get over it.

Martinez issues this season has been Howard and showing loyalty, I understand that managers try to show loyalty but you cannot do this to players who are past it, you have to be ruthless when players are past it. Moyes did the same with Neville.

Now that Martinez had dropped howard, but he did let it go AFR where the fans were taking it out on Howard himself when he was on the pitch in an Everton shirt. He might be learning as stones and Baines have also been dropped now.

He still learning and is still young as a manager, he won the fa cup already with a limited team. He shown he is ruthless in the transfer market with fellaini and baines with man u and also stones with chelsea

He got a lot of trust in young players such as Barkley who now is showing his quality more consistent, took a gamble on lukaku with huge money and brought us del magic and stones has been quality under him leadership.

It's would be silly for us to sack him now while he building this team, I want to see this team next season a year older with two more signings

Kev for Clev would have left us too open in the middle of the park. Mirallas need to come on and Martinez was right to sub Lukaku and Barkley for Mirallas and Niasse. But imo Mirallas for Cleverley wouldn't have been a good move. Another midfielder was a must yesterday imo, but fit players dictated who was available.

Our past 5 games have been good. One goal conceded and eleven scored, as Martinez said, is a great run of form. It's a massive shame about the West Brom game as we should have won it, and even though we won yesterday we weren't playing well at all.

If we can continue this kind of form we'll be right up there come the end of the season, but there's no excuses from here now.

Can't really understand this Moyes V Martinez thing we have going here. Moyes is long gone, anything he did or did not do has no bearing on Martinez. It is a poor defence of Martinez to say we didn't criticise Moyes so we shouldn't criticise him.
We all want the best for Everton, some of us see positives in the improvement in the squad and the way we play on the other hand some of us look at a record of 20 wins in 64 league games and feel that isn't good enough.
We should all remember that we all want Everton Football Club to be as good as they can be, we are all on the same side.
I personally feel Martinez lacks the tactical knowledge to break teams down, I don't believe he gets the best from the players he has at his disposal. I do credit him with assembling the players, the squad is better than it was for a while. I like his passing game but I would prefer to see a bit more directness at times.
That doesn't make me a "plotter" it is just an opinion.
How many goals have we scored this season?

Think this turn of form is exactly what we have needed to start on. I'll give credit to martinez all day long for this for playing the same team who kicked it off and having a little faith in his squad over his first 11.

What we need now is to take the 6 points off the teams above us and keep this up to make the season into a positive one. Whoever we draw in the fa cup, I'm happy with our cup runs so far, back that up with a challenge for Europe which is still a possibility and a good platform to build on.
