Tories aren't done yet. Not by a long chalk.

The British public is so fickle and a week in politics is a long time to people with the attention span of gnats.

Nah, they've had enough. People can see the state of the country and they know whose fault it is.

I think the Tories will draw out calling a general election for as long as possible, make all sorts of mad pronouncements, and offer tax sweetners in the Autumn statement.

Quite if it works, who knows. They'll also be desperately looking for dirt on labour. The Angela Raynor council house hoo ha being one. Unfortunately for them their own MPs have a propensity to offer far more dirt, the halfwits.

It'll be a long few months.

There comes a time in the life of a failing government were no matter what they do they are finished. They could promise everybody a free gold bar and they’d still be finished. Enough of the electorate want change and they expect change to take place. In my life I’ve seen it happen several times - the Alec Douglas Home Tories, Jim Callaghan and Labour, John Major under the Tories, Blair/Brown under Labour. Their time was up. That’s where Sunak and the Tories are now. The lid has been removed from the dust bin of history - they’ll be in it soon.

Or in a footballing analogy - “ The fans are on the pitch, they think it’s all over, —————— “

Tory Laura...

BBC bias eh, who'd believe it. Sickening that when a political giant is in crisis, the media still find a way to stick together like glue. She should be relieved of her duties and take her real role in life as chief spokesperson for the Tory party.

It's not good that 36% of the population is either voting Tory or someone even more right wing.

The Green Party have dropped 1% of their vote total, in other words @davek is abstaining.
Each party lost 1% of their vote, Reform have come from nowhere to become third party only sox points behind the tories. We can all see what's going to happen before the election, reform will join the tories, Farage is never far from his paymasters .

It's statistically factul certainty that half of the population is stupider than the median. That might be a politically inconvenient statement to make (certainly here) but it remains inarguable. It's true of every country on the planet. Can't ignore them either or you get Brexit...
