A low crime society is worth praising...
But the Soviet Union had low crime. It doesnt make it a great place to live. A bit like Singapore. I praise civil liberties. I suppose I just value my rights a bit more.

That may be the case, but it's not reflexive of the entire country is it? We are not building enough houses.
Low reported crime, keep it in mind. But the Soviet Union had low crime. It doesnt make it a great place to live. A bit like Singapore. I praise civil liberties. I suppose I just value my rights a bit more.
i honestly don’t know, a mate of mine is a land buyer for a major builder and he said it’s crazy at the moment..,
I suppose just statistically mate. The targets that are being given arent being met, and the numbers arent as much as in years gone by.
I'm sure some people are busy, but from a quant sense, the number of new houses is not as high as it has been.

A lot of bribery also. Completely unrelated, I assure you.
Perhaps but I can only say as I see…..
Over 200,000 new homes were built last year. But when 2- bed flats are £230k and houses are £325k, they are not affordable. Landlords buy them and people have to rent at high prices and then unable to save for a deposit that will work at these for sale prices anyway. That may be the case, but it's not reflexive of the entire country is it? There's not enough affordable housing.
I accept that. So say the target is 300k - what changes from the current scenario? People will still be priced out and forced to rent? But 200,000 is a lot less than the target, and also a lot less than previous decades.
However I agree, developers also build the wrong type of housing.
Sort of unrelated to the topic of Sunak, but related to the crime thing, so sorry for a small derail here:Of course. But that's the point isnt it? Often these alleged low crime areas that are being held up as utopias are just more adept at fiddling figures. I'm not having that Singapore, Dubai, Qatar etc are wonderful places to live for most people.
It's the sicko's and the alright jacks that are happiest with the current never ending fiasco. And it appears they enjoy it for both financial reward and for the entertainment of others pain.Well we have a police force* and a conservative government, and both are riddled with crime. So frankly I'd rather we move away from conservative values, as it just seems to increase more crime.
It's inexact, but since 2001 the number of dwellings has risen by 13%, while the population has risen by 17%. If you then factor that more people live on their own...I suppose just statistically mate. The targets that are being given arent being met, and the numbers arent as much as in years gone by.
