To be fair, the gentleman did say he had an interest in finance and, as an employee of the industry, it probably was something they could talk about.
Asking him if he had a job was a bit peculiar considering it’s a homeless shelter, unless it’s more of a warm refuge etc.
When I first saw it on my phone, I thought it was satire, a send up. Seen it later on the lap top and surprised to find it's real after all. Is that how he normally speaks? To be fair, the gentleman did say he had an interest in finance and, as an employee of the industry, it probably was something they could talk about.

On the Tory scale of things I don't think that's bad at all, came across as more socially awkward than anything else.
With all the actual bad things politicians are doing this seems like an easy target for headlines with no actual substance.
I took it as he was trying to be approachable, friendly and interested. Did he choose the right words? Possibly not. However I don't think there was any intention to belittle or condescend at all.
The memes are quite funny but as an actual stick to beat him it is quite unfair to be honest.

I'll give you the money myself Rishi..
I don't blame Rishi Sunak. As you say, he doesn't consort with working class types. He does the bidding of his masters - the buccaneering disaster capitalists he admires. Why blame an innocent sociopath? The people I blame are the working class types - and basically anybody who doesn't live in a mansion or gated community - who consistently vote for Sunak and his Conservatives. There are enough of them to tip the balance at every election, and they insist on visiting poverty, misery, and squalor on their fellow citizens and residents.Where's that video of him openly bragging he knows no working class people, hows he supposed to know if this chap is homeless or otherwise? He was clothed and trusted to be serving, qed not a filthy penniless crim. Sorted. The good ship tory sails onto glory...
Considering he was parachuted into the party as recent as 2015 (was it) and elevated very quickly to chancellor it appears he has taken like a duck to water in the tory way of making every answer/response abject lies. he's out of his depth because he doesn't have the good will of the majority of his party behind him so eventually they will hang him out to dry. He'll carry the can for the GE loss and the tory party, (yes them!) will play the race card as part of their excuse. He must have known he was going to get asked this. Why not just say you use private healthcare and prep for the inevitable follow up questions. Such a doofus.![]()
