He must have known he was going to get asked this. Why not just say you use private healthcare and prep for the inevitable follow up questions. Such a doofus.

I'm pretty sure the majority of people would expect a Prime Minister to have private healthcare, it wouldn't be a major outrage. Even more so, a Prime Minister who is worth as much as he is, I'm unsure why he didn't just answer it.

Yep, and to be honest it is a non event.
It doesn't effect anybody else either way.
If i am honest, if I had an issue.and I could afford to go private and get it sorted straight away, I would.
No shame in it.

There is a blurred line on occasions, but then the medical insurers have to pay the NHS. Either way, private medical insurance provides additional resource to the overall Health Budget via additional contributions and even tax if it’s company provided……

Just such a weird question not to answer , seems he’s created a furore when it was completely unnecessary. The answer of yeah and In my circumstances I’m sure people would expect me to have , might garner a few angry tweets but surely it then goes away . Everybody knows and I’m sure we all expected his answer to be yes , in his position I doubt other than someone with very strong ideological beliefs the answer would be any different .

I get he’d get some criticism If he said he’s in private healthcare but he obviously is , It’ll keep getting headlines and attention because he didn’t answer . It feels like when people get injunctions and all they do is give the story more fuel .

Considering most GPs are private partnerships and most of primary care is private sector, it's a weird line of questioning.
