Like many here, completely shocked at the news, and feeling very down. Loved him growing up and still enjoy watching all the classics every so often. RIP RIk - thanks for the all the laughs.

The way he played Alan B'Stard was at first seen as outlandish but by the the mid 1990s it had gone beyond parody and was actually very representative of many politicians of the day
