right back

So with Phil Neville gone Hibbo must now become the main whipping boy , sad really, still has a lot to offer and without doubt he will be involved this season but for the big matches, if Coleman injured, I have every confidence that Besic can perform as well as Coleman at right back, as he did for Hamburg, an attacking RB just as Coleman.

There's a big difference having spent his entire career on the left, he won't be used there you can vault me on this.

There's 5 players who will play rightback before Oviedo, we'd need an injury crises of epic proportions for him to be chosen ahead of Hibbert, Stones, Browning and Besic.

I think, if fit, he'd be before browning and Besic myself. Just a feeling. Thing if Besic there was in Roberto's mind we'd have seen it in preseason at some point and, iirc, we didn't.

Played on the right wing last season didn't he? Just before the injury.

Sure, but we do have senior cover at right back in Hibbert, and he was given a new contract by Martinez. The issue is whether he's up to much any more.

Few of our players really shone in pre-season so hopefully everyone will go up a couple of levels tomorrow, Hibbert included (if he plays).

He's been talking Browing up a lot towards the end of last season and over the summer, he see's something in the kid he likes and he was a rightback (until last seasons positional change by Stubbs) and as we've seen he's not afraid to use kids when he has to. The same with Besic really he's played a lot of his young career in the right side of defence which obviously gives him an advantage over Oviedo.

Like I said it would take an epic injury crises to see these lads play there but they be ahead of Oviedo in the pecking order if it happens.

He wouldn't be my choice at RB there are probably half a dozen players at the club I'd choose at RB ahead of him. But I don't think he would've been given a contract if we were going to get another one in.

Personally think it was a good will gesture by the club and Roberto. There is No Way IMO that he will see out that contract, he will retire at some point thru it.

Having said that Roberto must feel he can contribute a little on the playing side for now, probably league cup and lesser European games.

I remember the league cup last year when he played tho...Looked sooooo past it and out of his depth.

We need another RB/CB. Any long term or even short term injuries to a couple of key defenders and all of a sudden were very weak.

Coleman and jags or distin go down together and all of a sudden your relying on hibbert or alcaraz.
*Shudders*

Hibbo's not the whipping boy, he's a legend! But sadly has been a liability for years and not quality cover if we are serious about top 4 or winning a cup.

stones will play there not hibbert, i got feeling he would play jags ,browning or besic there tommorow ahead of hibbert, i think seamus will play anyway :)
