Well, it helps that we won, but I think the club played a blinder with Retro Day.

From the old school programme, to the Subbuteo team line ups on the big screen, to the old school graphics, the mega confusing but funny ABCDEFGH etc listing of half time/full time scores, the stick man graphics for bookings and GOAL!!!! flashing up on the screens when we scored.... I thought it was great and added to the day.

A full house too. The Fan Zone was absolutely rammed, they've increased the size and had a massive marquee with everyone on the ale.

Hope Retro Day becomes an annual thing.

100% agree - it was great.

Good idea this, from someone who was lucky enough to be a young man at the games in the 80's.

Nothing will beat that 85 season I don't reckon.

Wish i could re live it and enjoy it even more (not that i didnt at the time, but i didnt realise that thats as good as its gets at the time, sadly).

It does the Ball Harvey Kendall era with the championship title in 1969/70 season - the best footballing blues side I have ever seen!

Yup I enjoyed it. The fan zone was great, caught Snods and Cliff Marshall being interviewed by the compere bloke and the band they had on were decent as well. Did anyone else pick up the programme book, well worth the tenner!

I did! It's absolutely superb. It's 'Christmas-gift quality', a really superb historical book.

Any team that featured the great Alan Ball had to be good,Geoff Hurst was saying on Saturday that Alan Ball said to Ramsey you" you will have to rip this shirt off my back to replace me"also said Bally was the best player he had ever played with, praise indeed.
