Respect is due

I registered on this board a while ago but it was blocked in work so never really got round to posting that much on here. Ive been viewing another well known Everton forum but will never post again due to the amount of abuse that is given out to players , managers and other posters just because of a difference of opinion.

This board has been re-instated in the work place and il be positing again on here.

As the original poster said we all have different opinions and thats what makes a good forum and hopefully people on here wont be throwing out personal insults to poeple because they disagree with a point of view.

I have noticed lately that a few of the Moyes Out/Moyes In posts are attracting some hostile and rather personal exchanges at times. It's a divide that we and the team could do without. Just because we have differing views on how the club should be run or who the manager should or shouldn't be, does not detract from the fact that we all love Everton Football Club. We loved it long before Kenwright and Moyes were around and we'll love it long after they've gone to pastures new. So please can we just accept that we are all entitled to our own opinion and debate the issues with a healthy respect for each other rather than treating opposing views with hostility, we are better than that.
I've only been posting on here recently and this is my first thread. For the record I am a recent convert to the belief that Moyes' time has run its course but I certainly wont be questioning where all the Moyes lovers are the next time we stumble.
NSNO applies to the supporters as well as the team so come on everyone lets start respecting each other.

Brilliant , lad .

To be fair you have to admit the ones doing the spouting of late with endless disrespectful threads to - OUR team - OUR manager and OUR club... have been winding up those who support them.

Its as I said yesterday. Newton's third law. For every action their is an equal and opposite reaction. Wind up the other lot and they'll come on foaming at the mouth with righteous indignation when we do well!

The agenda creep from elsewhere (the shiteholes) has come onto the forum - where anyone who likes Moyes is an "idiot" or portrayed to be.

Has Moyes filled the team with 30+ year olds having spent zillions?

Nope. He may not make the best subs or tactical changes but 9/10 his plan A's spot on. So much so his peer's think he's amazing.

Moyes needs MORE money. Simple as that. LCAB said so too, and we know he's never wrong.

So have some respect for OUR players. OUR manager. OUR club. Then I think it'll go better on here.

On the other hand you've got people like that **** Chico who just buzz off the popcorn....

but thankfully those are in the minority.

*waves at the Azul

What was that about agendas?

This thread isn't about whether you like or dislike Moyes or think he should stay or go.

Its about respecting those who hold the opposite view to you, allowing them to view their beliefs without people jumping on them. Disagree, fine. But its when the insults and certain phrases get thrown in their direction there's a problem.

We all support the same club. Simple as that.

We should all (hopefully) come here to discuss that club.

In a friendly atmospshere without abuse or being jumped on by other posters which causes arguments and ill feeling.

Funny you say that about JUMPING. And funny it's you responding to my post too.

I agree on what the poster said. However, if you are to post stuff that is sensationalism or utter tosh then you're going to get a reaction so don't whinge about it. It's only the internet.

But his point was about being respectful and that's something which has been lost a little on here lately, by vast contrast to what it used to be. I'm as much to blame as anyone else, if not more, so it's a fair point and good that he said it.

Cause you're the worst culprit for jumping on other posters, mainly anyone posting anything anti Moyes and furthering your own pro Moyes agenda.

And what about JUMPING?

Do you disagree with my post then? Care to answer the points I raised in a respectful manner?

An' ME , too , btw .

I'll say nothing to you.

All in the spirit of respectfulness. Something you might want to adopt yourself.

It's all in there, the original post.
Of course we can have differing opinions, we can throw stats and information in to back our individual reasoning.
However, the insults?
Totally un-necessary.

I would like to think that members of GOT are able to articulate themselves without the excessive use of profanity and abuse towards other members.

Healthy debate is possible, even when we are deeply frustrated at times.

Also, look at how many ex-regulars have been driven away by this very respect issue. Good people.

Then there are the comments in jest that are misinterpreted as attacks. Problem with typing comments, there is no inflection in the words and so the way they are meant is often lost.
Take a moment.
If I am unsure about what somebody has said during a disagreement, I PM them. I have made most of my friends on here that way! You can clear the air without a public slanging match!

I have friends on both sides of the Moyes in/out debate for example and they are still friends. It is possible!

I am sure a few of us had noticed the decline in some relations here, great thread. Needed saying.
