Remember this point of the season.

Yesterday’s result and performance should be remembered by every fan over the coming weeks and months.

I say this because as low as we all feel right now and no matter what happens results wise between now and the end of the season, the board of Everton football club should be reminded that Fat Sam is NOT here any longer than the last game of the season.

What he said yesterday in his pre match interview was way back to the days of Moyes taking a knife to a gunfight. He said “if we get a point here today that is a good result” I’m sorry but I want my team to win no matter who we play.

Some people have mentioned on here about bad Martinez was and he did have massive flaws, however he did get us going toe to toe with most teams we played (can you imagine a fat Sam team going to Wolfsburg and winning 3 - 0 )

My worry is the more we spend in this window means one thing he is here next season.

THIS CANNOT HAPPEN

This might seem a bit pedantic; but seeing as you are using that game as a reference point, it was Wolfsburg 0, Everton 2. And we got battered in that game in every statistical facet barring the actual scoreline. And funnily enough, that particular game was a very un-Martinez like performance - we had significantly less possession, yet were the more ruthless side on the counter, and that day we were defensively resolute.

I'll just put this out there...

There seems to be a lot of VERY confident talk that BFS will definitely not be our manager next season. There's a difference between an opinion that he should go and stating he will. It's the latter that I'm referring to. Is there any evidence for this?

I know folk are fed up and dislike his style (me included) but is it really wise to repeat the received wisdom that our board will get shut and appoint a super managet befitting our status?

Basically I'm saying there may be some fume over the summer. This is our board we're talking about.

I completely agree Davey - there has been a lot of talk about a new manager over the summer. I think some people are setting themselves up for a big let-down. The GOT fume-train in August will be entertaining.

Yeah imagine winning 21 games out 38 in one season and setting records for attacking football...all from sideways passing.

Hopeless analysis.

Best counterattacking seen at this club for years.

Now we have some dullard even worse than the other two dullards Koeman and Moyes.
It seems you either missed the part where he said "last 2 seasons" or you deliberately ignored it to deceive. BFS's display so far is 1.36 ppg, which makes him better than 2 of Roberto de Great's 3 seasons. The last 2.

How bad must Roberto have been for BFS to finish ahead of him 2 of 3 seasons?

i would like a striker, left winger, right winger and centre attacking midfielder who are young, fast, pacy, skillful, good at scoring goals and know how to press the back line

i would like a left back to replace baines

and i would like centre halves who know how to defend

Untrue. 29.3% winning rate in the league in his 2nd and 3rd season. That’s why he was sacked. We lost to the like in West Ham and Stoke at home for fun. Entertainer. History cannot be rewritten.

He said in his last two years dave. I thought we had already worked out that his first season was because I'm inherited Moyes defence and squad fitness? Remember? When you were saying koeman only got 7th because he inherited bobby's "bouncing attack"

Loved it when we toe to toe with the RS at anfield... what an amazing night... bring back bobby

And in the sophomore season, we cut a swathe through Europe and had the grioup wrapped up before the final game.

This season were out before the final game.

Everton 2013 through 2016.....Already resembling a lost golden era.

"We cut a swathe through Europe... Before being utterly humiliated by a bang average side from a bang average league" I think is what you meant.

As for 2013-16 representing a lost golden era, maybe there is some truth to that but Martinez only has himself to blame for that being the case. He is the man that began our demise into the wreck that we are at present. I give him credit for trying to revolutionise us, but a total delusion to defending and certain players held him back.

Everton results away against top 6 sides under Martinez:

13/14 - City (Lost), Liverpool (Lost 0-4), Chelsea (Lost), Arsenal (Drew), Spurs (Lost) - 1 point from 15.
14/15 - Chelsea (Lost), City (Lost), Arsenal (Lost), United (Lost), Tottenham (Lost), Liverpool (Drew) - 1 point from 18
15/16 - Leicester (Lost), Arsenal (Lost), Spurs (Drew), City (Drew), United (Lost), Southampton (Won) - 5 points from 18

So he managed 1 away win against a top 6 side in a game like the one on Saturday. That was against Southampton who our players don't feel inferior to generally and happened in our 1st away game. If we'd have played them in our final away game, our players would have gone out with their usual inferiority complex and rolled over because they are spineless. Some may mention the Man United win in 13/14 but as great as that was, we finished ahead of them (us 5th, them 7th) so again, the players won't have felt the same inferiority as they usually do.

I don't think Allardyce should be here past May either unless he shows major signs of change, but our fans need to realise that at some point these players need to take accountability too. They were pathetic under Moyes in these fixtures, and pathetic under Martinez, Koeman and Allardyce too. We need winners - and these players aren't that.
