I thought City were clueless and lame first half and there for the taking.

Their passing was laboured and without invention and they didn't fancy taking on our players and going past them.

City are in the doldrums and we could have had a point if we'd tried to be more inventive.

we would of had a point if it weren’t for corruption.

As good as the performance was yesterday, its off course points we need as games in hand wont auto mean points and no 2 games are ever the same from us, by the time we play next, we could be in the bottom 3 and Brentford for one could be 5 points above us (Us having 4 games in hand), Leeds could be 4 points above us (3 games in hand on them), Newcastle could be 6 points above us (2 games in hand on them) just to name 3 teams, we need teams around and as close as possible, as last thing we want to find ourselves in is having games in hand and even a win may not move us up a place

Judging by franks post match comments, he probably believes we will be in the bottom 3 for next 2-3 weeks. I understand that with teams playing there games on hand on us, and is playing spurs away next week. Just need to hope the team continues to improve, because each home games we have got better and better.

I thought we stopped City playing with our tenacity and energy. We closed all gaps and prevented them getting into there stride. 2nd half you could see that the energy was spent with Allan and even Doucoure unable to keep the tenacity going. With VDB going off also this allowed Man City to take control. I don't think they were there for the taking we just nullified them in the main. Good play from us to match up to them and make it difficult

One thing that needs to happen above everything else if we are to push on next season is a review on our medical/fitness department.

VDB is with us less than a month and already an injury.

Not having it at all something isn't being done right in our medical department. Im hoping this new DOF looks into it and boots our medical department oot the door its been a shambles for years now.

Thought your boy sorted the medical department out?

Just an update where we are heading on a points per game
Team pts games aver points
14th Newc 25 25 1.00 38
15th Evert 22 24 0.916 34.81
16th Brent 24 27 0.888 33.74
17th Leed 23 26 0.884 33.59
18th Burn 21 24 0.875 33.25
19th Wat 19 26 0.73 27.74
20th Nor 17 26 0.653 24.81

As it stands Newcastle are heading for safety Norwich and Watford look doomed and 12 points will be enough to stay up.
This obviously can change massively on a couple of results, we must not lose to anybody below us but draws would not be the end of the world.
Another worry is we have more games left against the so called big six (5) so no games can be looked at as a free hit.
We must avoid having to go to Arsenal looking for a point to survive as we could be relying on the results elsewhere.

Exactly…

Maybe Burnley, Leeds and Watford swap over, but there’s little risk really.
Lampard has the team playing much better football, results will follow and other clubs are in free fall.

We dont get anything when we dont play well enough, so we must convert good performances on the day to points, particularly at home but also away.

My concern is both the lack of consistency between home and away performances, and that a certain hard luck mentality may become embedded in the squad, now that the novelty factor with Lampard may have weakened.

It's the sort of mental edginess and nervousness that hits confidence when chances are missed, and going into the final stages of games when you almost expect to be hit with a sucker-punch.

Yesterday's performance was very good and we were hit by a dreadful decision, but that's exactly what happens to a team in trouble.

We are following the script and have to show some tenacity and doggedness in adversity. We don't have a lot of either.

Our home games will decide our fate. But we need to get ourselves in the position where we are in our stride and dominating as we did vs. Leeds or getting a point from nowhere by coming back in a game.

If our only luck is hard luck then it's a nail biting finish ahead.
