Dave we have one less win at this stage then we achieved last season, we're a clearly a better team then previously and even though the results haven't been ideal (in the last two games lol with upper table teams) the performances have been solid especially against spurs , there's no reason for fear mongering and panic at this time.
Players aren't machines. They cant be read off from what they've done so far and credited with producing the same level of performance in the 2nd half of the season.

We are in a relegation scrap here.

I make no apology for underlining that to a lot of people who somehow thought we're too good to be in one. We aren't and we are.

This is a slog all the way to May. If anyone thinks otherwise they have no ability to read momentum shifts.

When will we actually find out about our points deduction appeal? And is there a possibility of them adding more points if it goes against us??

My concern is that these players have dragged themselves out of the relegation zone once already and if we fall into it again soon - as I think we will - then do they have the character to bounce back again.

These players have only known relegation struggles. That has to bear down heavily on them at some point and they buckle...espcially when they must (rightly) think they should be top 10 and out of this mess now.

I'm beginning to think the arse will completely drop out of us soon, especially if/when we receive no points back from the appeal.
We’ve got out of the bottom 3 twice already this season and played under the highest pressure in the last couple of seasons especially in the latter stages so I think most of the players wouldn’t be panicking at this stage. Things have been much worse, the players look happier than they have done at any point in the last few years.

We also haven’t lost to a team outside the “Big 6” in 3 months. We’ll do well to get something out of Wolves on Saturday (unbeaten in 7 at home, wins against City, Chelsea and Spurs in that run) but there are enough winnable home games left to make me think we’ll have enough in the tank to get out of it.

You can’t say points being ripped off us have had the opposite effect when we have won something like 5 in 7 since the deduction. It makes no sense.

We won’t have any last day shenanigans and we will be safe with games to spare
4 wins in 8 games.

I personally think that extends to 4 wins in 9 games at Wolves and we sink into the drop zone.

Then the momentum shift WILL be recognised and people WILL come to their senses.

we were 5points from geting out the bottom 3 at ko v Forest. that was very high pressure knowing if we didnt win then we would off course stay the 5 behind and what followed in the games after, may have not happened. as we never know

It’s 5 in 8 in the league.

Even if it was 4 in 8 or 4 in 9 as you claim it will be; that ratio is head and shoulders above a bottom 3 side.

Let’s remind ourselves last season we won EIGHT in THIRTY EIGHT and stayed up.

That full strength side sent out to get battered by Fulham in the nonsense cup could be the turning point for morale, just so poor all across the pitch and then the damage done. Should have binned it from the off...

Performances have still been good despite a couple of defeats. We should still be looking at teams above us as well as keeping an eye on the bottom 3. If we got 4 points back on appeal we’d be up to 14th!!! Over the course of half a season I’m confident we’ll gradually pull away from the mix for relegation.

This is a staggeringly bad take. You are saying you wanted up to forfeit a quarter final in the cup at home to a bottom half side, while we were sitting 7 points outside the relegation zone. Insane.

Could have easily gone out to Villa, play the under 21's and realise our priorities in a league decided to screw us. If we focus on survival hopefully they pick someone else to be the sacrificial lamb next year. Bookings and injuries and fatigue picked up in a nonsense cup have proven totally not worth it. We need points and soon, 'cos the sooner we get dragged into the mire by the really rubbish sides the sooner they get confidence.
