How would getting an International CB on loan affect Gibson's chances.
He is too young and too raw to be thrown into big games.
He needs to be eased into the side and his progress and development closely monitored.

Silva obviously rates Doucoure, I’m not a big fan. And especially for huge money. Maybe silva thought we could get him for 35. Then we would still have a month to flog Schneiderlin abroad for say 10mil. So not a bad swap for 25mil

I rate Kean highly and think he will be a major success ,but he is only 19

Silva wanted Zouma so I am not sure he wanted him as backup.

Marcus Rashford played 53 games as an 18-year-old.
Martial 49 times as an 18-year-old.
TAA over the park is 20 and has played 91 times for Liverpool.
DCL played 44 times at 19 for us.

Anyway, lets wait and see what the next 6 weeks brings, then we will have a better idea of what we NEED, rather than want we think we need.

The thing is we don’t know how good he is, he’s still a bit of an unknown quantity. Only played a handful of games for juventus last season & Verona the year before at 17. Hi goals per games is very good at all levels, yes the premier league is a tough league, but the Italian league is hardly a push over. I don’t watch it, but it was always considered a very defensive league. So making it tough for strikers.

He needs at least 10games to get him sharp & up to speed with the league and his team mates. And then let’s see how he does from then.

Sterling & Rashford we’re playing for big clubs as teenagers, if he’s got the talent I don’t see his age being a problem

De Ligt is a freak of nature , but still has to be tested every week in a top league.

I think you will find very few youngsters playing centre half, they generally are introduced through the full back positions.
