is it worrying to anyone else that we haven't beaten aston villa since march of 2006? why is it that we always seem to be in such poor form against them, bad luck or is their style of play some how difficult for moyes to cope with?

anyways i hope we can turn things around this time around, let forth the dogs of war!

cheers yea its amazing. shame about howard's yellow but hopefully now he can take it easy while we glide through to another easy qualification.

We completely dominated them last time out and have done the same to Liverpool 3 times and Chelsea since.

We had at least 2 saved off the line and another off the post... Other than their goals, can't remember Howard having to do anything.

2 of their goals were absolute flukes, 100% freak circumstances for both of them that won't happen again and the 3rd was a moment of pure brilliance from Sidwell - how often is that likely to happen?!...

Which is why i have a feeling something special is gonna happen on sunday i mean did you see how s**t agbonlahor was last night??

Villa away , in the 90's , was a mare . I remember going there 2 years running , Cleland as sent off , and Dunney , I think . We got pasted , 3 , each time . Then there was Boxing Day a couple of years ago .
However , we did have our best away peformance in a decade there
, Arteta's 1st game , as I recall . We Won 3-1 , shoulve been 7 or 8 , and L.C.A.B. was visible behind the goal . Magnifique !!!
At home , over the same period , theyve had the edge , but if jags had a mare , ( he werent that bad . 1 mistake ) ( Carrick and ) Barry, Agbonlahor and Heskey gave similar shows .
Come on the 'ton !!!

Couldnt care less about records. In our 2 recent home matches we deserved to beat them. Our defence should have a problem. They will either counter with Young, Milner and Abonglahor, or Hoof it up.

I might be wrong but it was about then we last beat the R/S(y)Did us no harm there:lol::lol:

I hope they don't play Carew, he's a monster. Always causes us problems.

I'd much rather see Agbonlahor and Heskey up there.

Agreed.

For all Jagielka's brilliance, he's relatively short for a centreback and may have more trouble with Carew than the other 2.

That said, Carew's not exactly very mobile, so Lescott should be able to do a job on him.
