Player Valuation: £70m
After todays result I think we need to put things into perspective:-

1. We are currently 7 points clear of west ham in 7th, who we have yet to play at home(y) - we should bar a disaster qualify for Europe

2. We have a semi final / wembley appearance in 3 weeks against Utd - who looked invincible two weeks ago, but very beatable now (y)

3. We have the best squad assembled since the mid-eighties (y)

4. We have half-the squad on the injury table - if we can get them fit/keep hold of them - imagine what we can achieve next season (y)

5. Moysie is the most frugal manager in the premiership by a long chalk (who needs mega-bucks when you have such a good eye for potential talent)(y)

6. We aren't newcastle/boro/bolton looking over our shoulders at the drop.(y)

7. We are Everton !!!!!!

.....feel free to add your own and cheer up ffs!!!

COYBB!!!!!

All good apart from number 4.

I've given up thinking of what could be if we can keep most of our players fit :(

This season has been one kick in the nuts after another and i'm jolly well fed with it!

I think by August we will need to of signed 30 players on freebies just to put out a fit squad :@

Oh yeah i forgot this was supposed to be a cheerful thread, sorry :D

Baines scored a free kick today and it was B-E-A-UTIFUL.

There is no doubt we have moved on leaps and bounds since the days of Walter Smith and Walker even, but can I say on the best side since the mid-80s , that I thought towards the end of the 95/96 season we played some great football.

After the Port Vale debacle, we moved on and towards the end of the season, played Sheffield at Hillsborough with a great performance and scored five, that was just one example, and even nearly reached a UEFA cup place that season, just edged out by Arsenal on the last day. I think we finished sixth that season, but no Euro place that time.

I agree to a point, but take kanchelskis out of that team I think we would of been very ordinary......I remember sitting in the main stand that season watching us beat villa 1-0, hearing the reports arsenal are losing and dreaming of the UEFA cup..... the difference with the present team is we areexpecting european football - not dreaming of it hence the team as a whole is better(y)

And bergkamp is still a Tw*t:P

Best thing I've heard for a while. So effing true its unreal.

We're also expecting to be a top 4 side.:D

I think, and I hope other supporters will concur, that whatever happens hereon to the end of the season, that fourteen years without a single piece of silverware is simply not good enough.

It's not as if we have had an abundance of bad players since our last silver, and come to think of it, last seasons semi-final in the league cup aside, Everton have not really had a sniff of trophies since the Rideout final.

Sorry to bring this up, but the last fourteen years have been such a barren spell, not to mention last day cliffhangers near the oblivion of League 2 under previous managers.

We were, after all, only a Hans Segers "error" away from relegation that day in '94. One which will live with me forever.

I hate bull**** like this.

You're allowed to be upset. You don't have to be happy all the ******* time. It was a depressing day, we're basically out of the running for the Champions League spots when we could've easily stayed in the hunt.

Stop being a **** and let people wallow in a ****ty ******* day.

Between our championship season of 69/70 and the F.A cup win in 84 (spookily 14 years)
Some of the clubs biggest legends graced goodison - Latchford, Lyons, King, Mckensie.......etc..... I know we made a few more fa cup semis in that era, but being a supporter is not just about the good times unfortunately to truly appreciate the taste of success you must taste a fair share of mediocrity - look into the eyes a glory hunting manc or cheski fan when they win another trophy.....then look into the eyes of a fellow evertonian hopefully on the 30th of may at 5.00p.m - I'm sure you'll find the difference immeasurable (y)
