Transfer Rumour Raul Jimenez

Me neither really. Not heard a single positive about him though.

And I don't like seeing @Connor lower himself like this.

You think that his goal scoring record is poor and then you realise that it's propped up with penalties as well. We're better off with Niasse.

some just posted this on TEF, if true sounds more promising than it would seem

"While Jimenez's goal scoring record doesn't look amazing, I did a little bit of math to dive deeper into the player. In the 16/17 season, he made 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 times and providing 3 assists. But, he didn't start a ton, only playing 1182 minutes, meaning that he scored every 107 minutes he played, which isn't bad IMO. Just for reference, Rom scored once every 132 minutes..."

...his representatives have been touting him around clubs for ages, he barely gets game time at Benfica. The indication is that news of an Everton bid was a ruse by Portugese outlet, Rekord, to force his price up. Saying that, I suppose he's one of a number of strikers we could bring in because he's certainly available.
No doubt he is very talented this lad , he has no chance displacing Jonas at Benfica as he is still banging the goals in.
Maybe a new club is just what he needs ,1 in 3 scoring record ,but has much more to his game .Not exactly your big grock hold up type some have been thinking we are after. He has bags of pace and works hard.
Only for the usual inflated buy out clause I think Koeman would have signed him a lot sooner. Maybe the price is more realistic now.
Certainly wouldnt be disapointed if we sign him.

He did, got 11 despite missing 3 months - split over 3 injuries - out injured. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rau...verein=294&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=

And who is to say he can't?

New club, new system. Starting on field with new teammates and coaches he may thrive.

Happy to trust the powers that be if he signs and will back him in.

All about opinions mate, and for me he's not the quality striker we need (he hardly gets a look - in at Benfica in a poor league) His goal scoring stats are hardly anything to write home about, and moving to the prem is a different kettle of fish to what he's been used to.

Obviously if we brought him in, then I would back him.

We're not though. And you know it.

And I don't even know a thing about this Rauly.
He was an utter failure in the only decent league he's played in. He managed a pathetic 7 goals last season in a poor league and most of them were penalties. He can't even make their first 11. He makes Niasse look like Messi.

I feel for him if he comes because he's going to be crucified for not being Romelu Lukaku, not being a 20 goal a season striker, and for having an inflated transfer fee. If we put all those things aside, there may just be a half decent footballer in him -

Why do Premier League clubs want him?
The simple answer is he is a lethal finisher. Jimenez took just 30 shots in Liga Nos last season and scored seven goals – one every 4.2 shots. Furthermore, 53 per cent of his effort were on target (16).

He is quick which is more impressive if you consider his build and size.

The next Lukaku he ain't though.

Imagine going for a drink with that bore.

'Well, it's funny you should say that because..' GO AWAY.

From what you're saying, is this you saying you're not that keen?
