RANGERS

Or he thinks it will be another 55 until they win another. Amazing that Gerrard has gone to another club where numbers hold such a mystical grip on the fan-base. 5 times etc.

any 'blue' who wants them to win the CL final needs to look in the mirror and have a stern word with him/herself.

I didn't say I want Liverpool to win, I said I do not begrudge them of success.

Jesus, I even give the definition of the word and you still don't get it.

To be fair, I don't have a problem with what you've said mate. I don't begrudge anyone success. It's just not how I live my life, if someone gets/does something that I'd like to do then I won't waste my time being jealous or angry about it, yo try to knuckle down and achieve better yourself. I am also quite comfortable and in my own life to not begrudge people with more.

I sort of translate that to Everton really. We have a fantastic history and tradition, to just in terms of trophies but in terms of stories, tradition and being the first club on a whole host of things. Nothing Liverpool can or have done will ever change that. Likewise if they do well, it should hopefully spur us on to do better.

I don't watch them and cheer for them. I rarely watch them at all. When they play I hope they lose, purely for the laughter, as it is shows up at the idiocy of huge swathes of their fan base. However it is of really no major consequence or importance to me.

I appreciate it's an unpopular view. I don't think any Evertonian who begrudges them success is worse than me, they may even be much better Evertonians than me, but I can't really get massively worked up over the actions of a football team I don't support and it's fans.

I especially enjoy, when you read the occasional thread on RAWK, that Kopites from the home Counties who've never been to the game busy trying to tell me their experience of watching the match at the pub (or more likely with their mum at home) are experiencing a kind of nirvanna that I could only dream of, or that in doing so they are having some profound effect on my existence. Neither are true, they just come across as neurotic, sad, pathetic and immature.

As I say though, each to their own.

calm down. i know what begrudge means thank you, i also know that calling some an imbecile is the same as saying they are retarded.

Hala Madrid

If yiur still on about the rs in the Champions league and wanting them to win cos it's for the city etc etc
Rewind to the 1970s they were winning stuff and indeed a lot of scoucers were happy for them
Then we reached the league cup final or as the the rs called it the micky mouse cup .
That was the straw that broke the camels back.

Aye they do. I've an uncle who is a rangers fan. He thought they would win the title this year. Was completely adamant.

Gerrard needs lots of time there to have any chance because the gap at the top is bigger than the grand canyon, but he wont get the time.

Slight difference between winning the SPFL and the Champions League.

The gap at the top is nowhere near where some think.
Rangers collapsed at the end of the season and spent most of the season managed by an under 20s coach.
Celtic have scored 2 goals more than Rangers this season, Rangers have been in turmoil this season. The last manager was an idiot who squandered good money on Pena, Herrera, Alves and Dalcio.
Our Captain has been injured all season and we've also had horrendous injuries.

Celtic are currently the best of a bad lot, but their performances in the CL proved how good they are.
It won't take much to close that gap.

Probably told him they were gonna make tonnes on the 'King Billy Sweets' and that's gone to pot.

You seem obsessed by religion, seek help.

I suspect because he's a Catholic which seems to be enough for a section of Rangers support to associate them with an 18th century political movement originating in Ireland founded by Protestants. I'm not really sure what songs about glorifying bombing and murder have to do with anything, but they certainly have nothing to do with Steven Gerrard or the Fenian movement.

I look forward to Rangers fan's glorifying a cowardly thug with a GBH record though. There's certainly no moral high ground from what I can see, when you cheer on scum like that as your manager.

Only he isn't Catholic, not that it would matter to me or any other Rangers fan, It only seems to be Celtic fans who care about the religion of Rangers players.

Its such a pity that you don't know the word "Fenian" originates from the IRB, which were founded by Irish exiles living in America who supported an armed struggle to force home rule on Ireland.

I never called him a "Fenian" either, a "Fenian" is an Irish republican terrorist of a supporter of terrorism.
So, Once again, I'm not sure why you raised what Religion you wrongly perceived Gerrard to be.

You're not very good at this, are you?
