RANGERS

He will need at least three seasons imo.Next season will be a learning curve for him.But Rangers won't get relegated under him anyway.I think establishing Rangers as the second best team in Scotland will be easy enough. Then the focus will turn to trying to knock Celtic off their perch.I would have preferred a more experienced manager. But hey at least it's not Alan Pardew i suppose!

And the you think within his timescale 3 seasons they'll qualify?

Yes i do think so!There is some excellent kids coming through the academy.Once a football club is producing the players. Then there will always be a hope.Slippy G would also not have come to Rangers, unless there was a guarantee of funding coming into the club.Patience will be required though. But there could be tears alright. But there's no guarantee, that they will be the tears of Rangers supporters!

It's 10 years since that Uefa Cup semi final win against Fiorentina.Rangers could have won the final that year.If it wasn't for the SFA scuppering their chances by overloading their match schedule.
Oh it was a factor. It wasn't the only factor, but it was a factor nonetheless.
They were rubbish in the final and deserved to lose there's another factor, every club that plays in Europe meets with a fixture congestion it's the price of success stop crying and get over it.

No problem mate, thought it was you having a pop for some reason, alls I said was it would have been a tough game, not impossible, which I think is a fair enough comment.
No problem, Internets a funny thing, can make things come across in ways they're not meant.
Fair comment, unfortunately we'll never know :(

That Rangers run was methodical and boring iirc
And their luck ran out in the final
I'd take a cup run like that myself and fluke the final but we're Everton and you know the rest

1 decent kid left recently for Germany
Even rangers fans admit they're top heavy with overpaid players brought in by the previous incumbent ,not murty , the lad before him.
So a big wage bill for starters.
Where is this warchest of cash ?

Gerard’s gone have a real problem there with the language barrier, he’s hard enough to understand never mind Glaswegians

Well i seriously doubt that Gerrard would have went to Rangers, unless serious funding was promised.Of course promising something and then delivering it, are two completely different things.

Celtic AND Man United?

What a glory hog

He should try Everton and Hibs on for size
To be honest, the lad is Irish, Celtic is his first love. Moved our here as a young lad and followed united mainly because of Best. He’s nearly 60 so he’s followed both through thick and thin. Must be said mostly thick.

Next Old Firm at Celtic Park will be interesting when Celts are singing "Grand Old Team" and YNWA whilst Stevie Me sits in the away dug out...

Predictions for next season: Rangers first game is away to Celtic, you just know he will be caught singing along to YNWA...2nd game of the season at Ibrox he is lynched before kick off by fifty thousand angry Scots and beaten to death. RIP Slippy.

Don't really understand that one Rob maybe you could explain, but I think with the present directors in place especially King, anyone would be crazy to come to Rangers in any management capacity.
Rangers need to follow Celtic's modern blueprint ( no pun intended) get sound and honest business people in who have a feel for the club, who understand the Scottish game, who can provide regular funding without having to borrow beyond their means, who can make and maintain an annual profit, I don't think under King's leadership Rangers are capable of ticking any of these boxes, I do not believe he is even in tune with the supporters expectations on any level.
I agree with you, we need a fergus mccann to start building again
