RANGERS

What we sometimes see as terrorists, others see as freedom fighters.
Unless they do it against an Israeli team, like they did against Hapoel Beer Sheva, I don't see what situation flying a Palestine flag could possibly inflame.

My own personal view is, I don't like to see injustice, or people being treated badly, anywhere. I wouldn't hold an English guy, an Israeli, or German etc responsible for the acts of their governments, and I wouldn't dream of treating them any differently from people who live in any other country.
With the views a lot of folk hold against certain groups in England, then yes it will inflame things. Especially among some football fans where there does seem to be a lean to the right even in this day and age. I’m not saying Celtic are right or wrong to allow those flags In the ground, but both Celtic and Rangers allow their fans to shall we say display certain loyalties . It’s more than just football I’m aftaid, and both clubs hugely represent certain groups. It’s part of the fabric of both clubs.

It’s a shame all this has to be dragged into a thread about a football club. History is history though, and aslong as no one is being offensive then I don’t see the problem.

Which flags are you talking about?

Right. I thought you were talking about the Palestine ones. The IRA ones aren't my quite my cup of tea, I wonder if we'll ever move on, but people have the right to their own opinions I suppose.
Just think the club could do more, but as I’ve said, it’s part of the fabric of the club. Rangers just as guilty.

Do you ever think both clubs will join the English league? And how would you feel about that?

No. I don't think they will.

I would prefer it if Scottish football could get back to the way it was in the 80's, when Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Dundee Uited, and Hearts were in the running for the title. it's pretty tight at the moment, but I expect that Celtic and Rangers may pull away from the pack in the next few months.

I can’t see it either. Both huge clubs, but it would tarnish their history I think. It’s good to see Kilmarnock making a go of it. Moving to the prem would progress both clubs I think though.

There are pro IRA flags at Celtic. Have a look online. The Celtic View can back this up.

I sit in 404, which is at an angle from The Green Brigade, so I don't see a lot of their banners. I do remember there was a huge fuss when they had a banner with the faces of William Wallace, and Bobby Sands, with the words they both fought for their wee bit hill and glen, which I thought was a fair point.

Bobby Sands was a Villa fan so I believe.
