What a shambles of an interview. Just shouted over Lynch and actually let him off the hook.
If you want the definitive answer to these strikes , look no further:
Compromise seems in short supply.I saw an Ian Hislop interview recently
He raised an interesting point that we don't really know how to handle strikes anymore
There used to be a time when people would want, say, a 20% rise and would go on strike. The employers would then come back at something like 11-12%, the union would accept it, strike over
These days people go on strike and the employers, backed up by the government, just say "you shouldn't be striking"
Thus strikes keep happening
I mean, splitting hairs and all that. He makes many points in this vid, odd to highlight oneHe is wrong. Truss cost the country over £60 Billion in a matter of hours, not the £30 Billion he states.

Ah, yeh, I do it a lot !It was a supportive response. Not a dig. Cant disagree with a word he said.
Irony, as ever, usually fails on a forum.

Signal men ,are out but I think they run a limited service,(bosses and scabs ) for the freight lines .This may be the single most stupid question ever asked. But do freight trains stop during the strikes as well?

Most freight staff themselves will not be on strike, a lot of are ex drivers , go over there better shifts ,pay, no passengers.
They put golden handcuffs on are lot now once they pass out as a driver,( still months of route leaning ahead of them) to stop them leaving, think its a two year thing before they can leave.
The freight staff don't work for network rail or the TOC's do are not Involved.
They have staff that check the stock for defects, loose brake cables ect they used to be employed by network rail not sure now.
They tend to treat thier staff well mate,Cheers mate. I guessed that may be the case, (who the drivers work for), but hadnt a clue if I was on the right lines, so to speak. The whole distribution network has enthralled me once I started working in it, and have not heard a dicky bird about freight being impacted.
If you ever get the chance give it a go.
I feel the same way matelol
At my time of life, after nearly 3 years of caring for/looking out for Nikki and now Mum, reckon Sainsburys shelf work will be my more likely destination. Would quite like it I reckon.
I feel the same way mate
That's my level now I reckon.
Couple of years. , putting tins of paint on racks at BQ before I retired would. Be good.
