Fanbase is toxic at present - sooner the footie starts up again the better for people's sanity.

What they dont realise is Benitez isn't some one night stand like Alladyce was who after a night of passion we sneak off in the early hours of the morning - this bloke is here for the next 18 months minimum so the sooner people accept that the better it'll be for everyone.

I really can`t believe that your sick and twisted mind, has somehow managed to compare Sam Allardyce to a " night of passion " .

Thanks for that, as I`m going to have nightmares for weeks now.

I have no idea why any one would need to make a sexual innuendo over managerial appointments.

The manager is who he is.

He sees Rodriguez as a defensive liability & distraction. Kean IS a distraction. He has never had any tolerance for players who detract from squad unity. The team is everything. Organisation first. Flair second if/when possible. The Board knew all this when appointing him.

We can argue about his assessment of James but we cannot really criticise the bloke in charge for being true to his career-long ethos. Those who appointed him? Yes, maybe they deserve the heat more.
I agree, he’s got his style of play and can’t expect him to depart from that. He’ll get judged on results and league position ultimately.

Where Rafael has left himself open to criticism, for me, is if the team does struggle to create chances or lacks quality in the final third this season. I’ll have no time for him saying in post match press conferences stuff like “we were solid and worked hard - we just didn’t have the final pass or quality in the final third”.

Tend to find that’s the sort of line trotted out by these more conservative pragmatist managers - I don’t have any sympathy for it. Load your side with defensive, organised players, then don’t bemoan lack you quality or goals. It’s a direct result of your decisions.
