I went to the counter-demo in Cardiff. A couple of people (who all had the thickest South England accents imaginable) turned up to "Protect our Kids" and then proceeded to shout a couple slurs at us and then went off on their merry way.
I'm of the view that the EDL should be a proscribed organisation. I think anyone found to have links should be banned from taking public sector jobs, and have their kids taken from them. Not necessarily. For a start, whilst there is a minority of absolute weapons involved in this there are far more people who are willing to turn up against it - and nothing these people are doing is going to make more people back the cause. The "save our children" argument is clearly nonsense, these people are more likely to touch up kids than they are save them (which is probably why there is so much aggression at cops).
What Starmer has to do now is deal with the encouragement and organization of them - that means social media firms being cracked down on, it means the likes of GB News being cracked down on (Ofcom should finally grow a pair and deal with them properly), and most of all it means identifying where the money that is funding all of this is coming from and stopping it.
If those predictions of massive migration to Europe from Africa really come through in next 20-30 years, this entire continent gonna turn fascist.

What really, really yanks my chain is that any attempt to make such a migration not necessary - like taking any measure to actually deal with global warming so that it doesn't make most of a continent uninhabitable - gets these people and their backers outraged as well. They are professionally moronic.
