It them racists fancy kicking off in Birmingham good luck to them but they probably need to examine the plan
They've protested in Solihull. One of the poshest whitest suburbs in the city so far.

I genuinely think these goons would get a good pasting if they went anywhere with a sizeable Muslim populace. I really do hope it doesn't happen and they stay away from Alum Rock, Spark Hill and Sparkbrook. There's hot heads in all communities and I could see retaliation. It's the last thing we need.

From my limited understanding, this act states that business owners etc can claim directly from the police for damages caused by riots. Therefore the state is not keen to label things as riots because they'll be on the hook for damages.

No cant agree have had look at Sky and others and they use Riot consistently. Besides "BBC News" is separate from the rest of BBC and should report unimpeded of state apparatus.

You're over thinking things. This act is about speeding up compensation claims to and from insurers etc. That is where the bulk of the compensation will come from along with government, but coordinated by the local policing body, or the riots compensation bureau or ultimately the secretary of state

It states in section 1 paragraph 6 of the act:
(6)In this Act, “riot” is to be construed in accordance with section 1 of the Public Order Act 1986

Which means that the definition of a riot is defined in criminal law.

CPS Public Order Offences incorporating the Charging Standard Updated 8 August 2022 (see link in the text)

Which also means more than 12 persons present together committing unlawful violence etc.

If you actually look at the act, and what these parties who have been remanded to appear at Crown Court, at the moment they're all being charged for individual offences and section 2 violent disorder.

However, when they say full force of the law, it is probable like in 2011 they will start charging based on the definition of "riot" and the charging standard according to the CPS is

To be guilty of the offence the defendant must be with others who are using or threatening violence and the defendant must have either:

  • personally used violence; or
  • aided, abetted, counselled or procured the use of violence so as to be jointly liable, e.g. encouraging, planning, directing or coordinating the activities of those involved in violent action.
Charges under section 1 should only be used for the most serious cases usually linked to serious outbreaks of sustained violence.

Meaning once they start getting evidence of those organising or encouraging the violence those parties will start getting charged under section 1 and "riot" offences.

This blog covers it well

Basically this is just the start of it all, and anyone involved with planning or coordinating this disorder is going to get absolutely stomped on by the criminal justice system

You just back from your tea?🤔

I actually think that could be Rooney🤣🤣

That is the most insane thing I've ever seen. Rooney's lawyer will be on the phone to him immediately "get your arse back home now" 🤯 either that or the Plymouth Argyle lawyer

Thing is, even if you wanted to leave this rat hole of a country and get away from the hatred, that’s now more difficult too because of Tory Brexit.

They’ve bummed us dry.
