Agreed but we've won 3 out of the last 4 at home to Chelsea.

TBF we've given them a good game home and away for a long time now. They usually got the result though.

I don't particularly rate this incarnation that highly despite thinking they'll win the league and they'd be a good scalp for Bob to get early in his reign.

Dont call them Chelski ffs.

Yeah we can beat them, but the big quesiton is will we beat them.

To be honest, I'm not overly bothered about the result, more about the performance - if we play well and get beat I'll be happy. Chelsea are a team that will win the league, or at least be there or thereabouts - its the teams lower down we need to get the results against.
we also need to win those teams home and away to stand any chance getting in Europe

...of course we can beat Chelsea but it is unlikely based on performance in the first 3 games. I accept we are in a period of transition, but we really have lacked tempo and penetration in the top third of the pitch. I appreciate the feel good factor has returned via the transfer window, but although we have bossed games we haven't really looked capable of breaking anybody down. I fear we might be back to doom and gloom come Saturday night but I am a glass half empty type.

You get three points for a win regardless of who it's against. Beating a side, as you say, likely to win the league would give the whole club a much bigger boost than beating WBA.

I know that, but I'd rather see us play well and get beat by Chelsea, and go out and beat West Ham next week. The problem with Everton, particularly under Moyes was that we would beat Chelsea and then get beat by West Ham - which actually puts the clubs moral down more.
