I looked for a thread to post this in; honestly I did...could not find one...so here goes...

Approximately 60 minutes before the transfer window closed last Monday evening, I was ready to kill. The Barry transfer was dead in the water because of wages, the McCarthy transfer was dead because of Whelan, the Lukaku transfer was dead because of WBA, and the Fellaeni transfer was 99.99% done.

As the window shut, we were elated; well, I was...a feelgood factor second to none.

Those were the general comments; now comes the questions...

Can we beat Chelsea?

Reason, if we lose, we could very well be in the relegation zone...

Second Question

Will the feelgood factor evaporate, and be replaced by those feelings we had an hour before the Window shut...

Mods, if you feel this thread could be merged into something else, please do so...

Can we beat Chelsea?

Yes, I fancy us against any team at Goodison. Shame Lukaku can't play though.

Reason, if we lose, we could very well be mired in the relegation zone...

It'd be annoying not to have a win under our belts, but league positions don't become telling till about 10 games in so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Will the feelgood factor evaporate, and be realised by those feelings we had an hour before the Window shut...

Depends on the performance against Chelsea really.

Yes and No

Can we beat Chelski - yes

Defeat may have us in relegation zone? Will be four games in and would not worry until maybe Octoberish, we have been in worse positions.

We can beat Chelsea but it doesn't mean we will or won't.

A defeat at Chelsea would be the bookmakers choice and maybe the choice of many neutrals but I'm confident ahead of this game.

If we get a point that would be frowned upon also but that's only due to the results of the first 3 games. If we had won 2 of those 3 and then drew with Chelsea, people would be celebrating in a way but the way things are now and we draw, the fans will feel disappointment and frustration.

Going off the previous games a win is vital and desperately needed but if we forget those 3 games, then we would be happy with a point.

Dont call them Chelski ffs.

Yeah we can beat them, but the big quesiton is will we beat them.

To be honest, I'm not overly bothered about the result, more about the performance - if we play well and get beat I'll be happy. Chelsea are a team that will win the league, or at least be there or thereabouts - its the teams lower down we need to get the results against.

Why the fkski not?

Yes we can, No it wont dissapear

Fact is i remember the days when kendall arrived and ferguson at old trafford, the start of the first season at any club is hard for a manager stepping up to a big club, its how the season develops and if the signs can be seen that the team is progressing over that season

Momentum and confidence play a big part in football. We've been the better side in all three and remain unbeaten. A defeat will bring the moaners out in force and the atmosphere might change a little bit.

A win against a side we usually struggle for results against will make people believe anything is possible and we can kick on from there. If Ross scores the winner expect pandemonium.

Agreed but we've won 3 out of the last 4 at home to Chelsea.
