I can do with out the flags, as in, not remotely arsed about them, just like the way folk seize on any half decent reason to have a party. Lost count of the number of community BBQs being set up in the estates round my way today.

I don't actually have a flag but I have no problem with anyone else flying them.

It was similar during the Olympics in 2012. There was nothing contrived, folk just took an interest, the interest/support grew and grew, and everyone enjoyed feeling part of a massive sports event.

I am sure it happens else where on the planet.
