Financially we're in decent shape, Kenwright has kept the debt manageable. However no one in their right mind will invest in our club because we need a stadium and we don't even have a plan for a stadium. A 250M planned stadium could easily run into the 400-500M range due to cost overruns. Our club is probably only worth say 130M at best (Villa with a good stadium and little debt only cost the Lerners 120M so it might be even worth alot less than that). Who's going to pay for a stadium who's price tag 2-3X what the club is worth?

They have crazy, crazy money. The Lerners and (even Glazers) of the world are looking at things from that business perspective. If the Qatar blokes need to drop 400-500m on a stadium it really means nothing to them in the grand scheme. They might even like the idea of putting their own stamp on a new building. In fact forget 500m they'd probably build a billion pound stadium. The fact another team might already have a new stadium (like Citeh) makes things easier in the sense that they don't have to wait to build one, but I really doubt the money needed to build one would make that much difference. Look at how much they're spending on building stadiums (and everything else) for the World Cup -- there's nothing remotely logical about it. They're not doing that to make a profit; it's for status.

I don't think it's going to happen (for a variety of reasons) and the reasons you mentioned are precisely why someone like Lerner would never buy a team like Everton. But to these lot I doubt it would matter.

Since it's goal.com it's likely all utter bollocks but it's an interesting battle of prospective teams:

If those were the real teams in contention, we'd have a decent shout.
