There are posters in this thread that seem to want to excuse/justify Putin for his chillingly murderous actions. Their rationale is that we do it, albeit in a quieter fashion, so why can't he as well!

However, where is the proof our Gov't does this in order to stop any potential challenge to our leadership as Vlad does so publicly in our faces? My goodness if this was Russia most of the posters on here would be, at the very least, under surveillance for their apparent hatred of anything that our Prime Minister or his party does.

Just cos you hate your Queen and country shouldn't mean you exonerate the preposterous actions of such a vile and villainous dictator as Vlad!

You may be right, I'm not privy to their thoughts. Inequality has been a part of society since it's inception. Guess what? In most respects, social equality is better than it has ever been.

In a geopolitical sense there is shred of admiration that he was able accomplish something that the Soviet Union spent trillions trying to do and eventually collapsed. Which is destabilize the west, not totally but there is damage that will last decades and its now spreading into Western Europe. And he did it w/ a few computer hackers and a weak hand (cheap oil). Next to walking out of New Mexico w/ the plans for the bomb, its arguably the greatest work of counterintelligence over the past century.

Other than that I don't have any preconceptions that he's not a gangster thug.

Equating hating our country and royalty to criticising BJ and his circus is not centrist, nor of Earthly logic.

Haha, great post. I never said he wasn't a clever man. However, reading the book 'Red Notice' left me with spine chills. Sadly many think the guy who wrote it lied. I however believe Bill Browder!

Current Russia doesn't have nearly the military power needed to pose a massive threat anymore. They are broke. Inequality is tremendous. Putin is apparently the richest human on earth right now! The reasons for this have been documented. He's a shrewd operator though as he's convinced his own people to love him nonetheless. Putin's legacy is to restore the full Soviet Union back together pre-Glasnost and Perestroika! His state-sponsored clandestine meddling in our social media has been an astonishing achievement. Both our leader and the USA have both been proven to have close ties to powerful Russian Oligarchs. He helped get Trump elected and certainly contributed to us destabilizing the Union ie Brexit!

I see you're infected as well. Pity. You're right though. Although I suspect your wrong in many more cases. Hating your country, it's monarchy and it's leadership usually comes in package form these days. It becomes tedious to easily predict what people will say, no matter what end of the political spectrum they lie. That's my point. Recently political ideas are so divisive that there really are only two pointy sides. Yay or Nay, black or white! Where's the subtlety?

The right way is and always will be that our answers lie all along the political tightrope. This means left, middle, right and all between.
