Also if he doesnt end up here its not the end of the world, we never had a dof before, just make sure walsh doesnt have the final say on players and get a manager with a clue.

Sound sto me more like he is making it clear what he offers is stability (the not a job hopper quote) so if he arrives making it known he's in it for the long term...

Could be a way of wrangling a longer contract and/or making it clear he wants sole control in the DoF role with walsh out?

As in i am a long term appointment if it ake it and i have x,y,z sole responsibilities at my current club - so won't take a 'lesser' set of that control

That's part of our problem though, one contract and they are set up for life, no thoughts about working harder to get a pay rise as they are already on twice what any normal club would give them.
