Funniest part about all this restart stuff is just how hilariously bad the games would be.

We haven't played since start of March, teams can't train properly, they'd be rushed back into a restart so they wouldn't be given like a couple of weeks to train again. Sometimes during a season a player loses a family member and might miss a game as their head's not in it. LOADS of players head's won't be in it with foreign family members maybe struggling with all this. It'll be like an even worse level of quality than a pre-season game.

When might businesses rely on force majeure clauses to excuse them from performing contracts during the coronavirus crisis.

It would also need to be proven in a court of law that The Premier League did everything in their power to finish the season, which they havent.

1. Like I even know the other 3 leagues exist.
2. Sky needs the Premier League, but The PL also needs to keep the company who pays the most, Sky know the PL is minted, Sky as a business doesnt make massive profits, it cant afford to be generous.
3. Sponsors are businesses, not charities.
4. Clubs have lost out on ticket sales, most clubs will also have to refund the fans for season tickets and such, maybe all into next year, it adds up, yes the players still get paid, but clubs dont have any income once they lose ticket sales, sponsorship and tv money
5. Clubs like Everton have wages to turnover at 85%, stupid clubs like that.

2. Sky need the PL far more than the PL need Sky. You don't think the likes Amazon will be circling right now? Sky/BT are losing more every year they'll be desperate to do all they can to keep themselves relevant.
3. They are but you'd have to know how much revenue a club loses from a few months of no football. We've effectively lost 2 months of footie before the season would have ended anyway.
4. Again, you'd have to know how much of a players wage is paid by all that stuff. Doesn't account for those players that have took a pay cut and thus off-sets the loss of outside earnings.
5. We would not go into liquidation.

TV money. Thats a well trodden argument. Sky stump up or they will DEFFO go bust in 2 or 3 years time.

Nobody knows what sponsors will do, but I cant see any business with any sense saying "no problem mate, just keep the 40m, we dont need it".

The French have no chance with their court cases, its in the contract they signed and the French government are the 1s that basically ended the league.

The reason why it wont go to court...etc is things like that can drag on for years, and next season it only 6 or so months away.
So Leeds have a choice, play next season in which ever division or sit the season out while your getting dragged around courts.
