Euros need scrapping - international football should NEVER be played during a kin global pandemic.

But domestic league on hold for 1 month and have it finish a month ahead of schedule.

I’m torn now Mitzi, completely see the arguement that there are way more important things going on, but this isn’t in anyway contributing to the deaths & there is a fair arguement that it’s helping in terms of mental health, helping with boredom & keeping people in doors etc

For the record - my opinion is solely continuing due to cash and will be forced to stop soon

Dunno about you, but I find myself watching games out of curiosity, hoping that what I’m seeing will inspire and give me a sense of normality, however I find instead that I feel empty and disconnected.

Completely agree it’s the pale imitation of what we once loved, but I’ll be honest I’d rather watch Burnley V sheff united behind closed doors than no sport at all

Just stop the bus now. It’s getting ridiculous 1300+ deaths today. In some parts of London they reckon 1 in 20 have the virus.

Need a pause of about 2 months till we get this thing under control.

Thing stopping football wont help stop the spread of the virus, not while morons are still not behaving.
If anything it would make it worse since certain players will just party more.

I know it won’t stop the virus. It just feels wrong to me playing competitive sport with people croaking aots.

Gotta agree with this, be harsh on the likes of North Macedonia and Finland who qualified on merit though

Dyche highlights how ludicrous it is football is continuing.

No way should players be getting vaccinated ahead of schedule.
Certainly not with NHS secured doses.

If the league do their own grubby deal with a big pharma company that is one thing but ahead of elderly, vulnerable and those who HAVE to go out in the public to work using NHS doses would completely finish football for me.

Unfortunately, football is a global brand nowadays but the product feels more and more synthetic and away from the traditions and roots of the game. In the context of the Premier league, this is what the masses want. Most Premier league fans don't live in the UK. I'm not having an anti foreigners rant by the way. This is just the reality. The "success" of the league becoming the richest in the world means that the fans that can go to the game do not matter anywhere near as much as they used to.

We are probably the worst in the entire developed world at the moment. You're definitely right there. Mostly due to over 40 years of Thatcherism and 11 years of austerity have run down the capacity of the state to do very much.
But much of Europe isn't doing that well either. France, Spain and Germany have hardly covered themselves in glory. They don't even have Tory blurts in charge as an excuse.
Compare to the likes of Vietnam who shut their borders almost straight away, massive state-run test & trace and large government quarantine centres for those showing symptoms. Almost no deaths and economy growing. Not bad for a poor little communist country.
