Is she any relation to Everton legend Earl Barrett?
Yes,I like them in a prominent role.Given our clubs star-studded history in the woman's game, I for one am glad to see a woman in a prominent role.
These are a rare breed, not many experienced PL CEO's. It seems that many of the Execs in football are either known to the owners or come from an investment banking background.I agree with all that C. I knew her quite well professionally before her Everton days. She also has a good understanding of property dealings from her time on the board of SLH so I dont have any issues regarding the new stadium like some on here.
However there are 2 reasons I am not overly happy with the appointment, and neither are to do with DBBs abilities.
Firstly, this shouts out to me of being a Bill Kenwright appointment, which means he still has a big say with what is going on at the club.
Secondly I was hoping that the new CEO would be a big football name in the Dein mold. Somebody wgo Mosh could trust to make the big footballing decisions and who has a lot of respect in the game. Somebody who could take Bill and Mosh out of the limelight and the decision making process, or at least have the stature to help them make the right decisions.
So for me this appointment just points to it being business as usual at the very top end of our club. Looks like a trade off to me between Bill and Mosh with the power struggle between them set to continue.
Having said that I wish Denise all the very best. Despite all the crap we have to deal with she remains a credit to our club.
