Indeed, he’s a bizarre character who tries to get in the limelight all the time

Didn't someone from man Utd say as much, sure I read that somewhere? He's been involved trying to sell the club for Bill for years(or so we were lead to believe) with no success, I don't understand what his credentials are.

Yeah he tried to be involved in a takeover, think it was David Gill who slated him. Tried to sell the RS and was involved in City’s original takeover to the Thai fella. But like you said he’s been lingering around bill for years, he seems to have a contact list but a very strange fella and a bizarre appointment to our board

She is very competant but does not have the skillset for this position particularly at this time of unprecedented negotiations with the proposed new ground.

We should have head hunted an experienced premier league CEO.

Very risky to install a new manager , CEO and DoF at the same time.

Lool at the mess at Man U when Woodward and Moyes took up their new positions in tandem.
United's issue was that Woodward was terrified of making deals. The likes of fellaini Baines bale etc were available but Woodward was scared to do any deals for them that seemed pricey.

Whereas now he has learned that money isn't an object

Good luck to her.

Really good person, brilliant Blue and done some incredible work with EITC.
I agree with all that C. I knew her quite well professionally before her Everton days. She also has a good understanding of property dealings from her time on the board of SLH so I dont have any issues regarding the new stadium like some on here.

However there are 2 reasons I am not overly happy with the appointment, and neither are to do with DBBs abilities.

Firstly, this shouts out to me of being a Bill Kenwright appointment, which means he still has a big say with what is going on at the club.

Secondly I was hoping that the new CEO would be a big football name in the Dein mold. Somebody wgo Mosh could trust to make the big footballing decisions and who has a lot of respect in the game. Somebody who could take Bill and Mosh out of the limelight and the decision making process, or at least have the stature to help them make the right decisions.

So for me this appointment just points to it being business as usual at the very top end of our club. Looks like a trade off to me between Bill and Mosh with the power struggle between them set to continue.

Having said that I wish Denise all the very best. Despite all the crap we have to deal with she remains a credit to our club.

Don't really disagree with any of that - I just think having a CEO who has experience of delivering on huge infrastructure projects would be helpful, but, at the end of the day, the business is owned by Moshiri & Co, so who are we to quibble...
We're a football club not a construction company. We employ specialists for that and she does have significant experience working in the property sector before joining Everton. Her role in the stadium will be oversight and she's nobodies fool so she'll be OK I reckon.

I'd have preferred somebody with a bigger stature in the football world, but thats only because of the 2 numpties we have running our club at the moment.

Tbh mate, after what you've said regarding her abilities I think it's more than likely that Moshiri is also aware of her skills and made this appointment because of them. I think the days of Kenwright making top level decisions are few and far between.

I hope you're right mate but this is exactly the appt I would expect from Bill. But maybe you're right and they both agreed on it. She's certainly a very clever and capable person. She has an empathy and warmth about her too so people are happy to work for her.

That wasn't what I meant - my point was ultimately he and his fellow board members own the majority of the football club, so it is in their interests to appoint a competent CEO. That doesn't mean their decisions aren't open to criticism.

It was in their interests to appoint a competent manager who wouldn't throw £250M down the toilet too. Applying logic to any of their actions simply because of share ownership looks fanciful.

Her statement suggests that the search for the new manager hadn't already been taking place prior to now.
