That woman is an utter cretin. But we have cretins at every level of society I am afraid. I have posted similar before, but the perfect description of the UK, well probably English actually, society is a decent pint of real ale. The charges themselves were a deal cut between the prosecutor and Epstein's team without any input from the victims.
They weren't even told that he had been convicted, let alone on what charges.

So, she could be badly informed, which she could be because people like her only read the headlines in the Daily Mail, not the whole story or, she's deliberately gaslighting.

I think the latter. They're all at it and she knows it. Hence the downplaying.
