It will come. If we can sort out a few dull 1-0s we'll be smiling

This

Got a feeling it'l either be 1-0 to us or 1-1 on Sunday

Last year the bet was Jelavic 2-0, sadly this year its Fellaini 1-1

Clean sheets will come, especially with Hibbert back, we've looked much more solid in the last 2 games

Moving Fellaini back will not help one bit as he's already scored 8 goals, if we are ahead comfortably then bring Fellaini back in the middle.
We're fine for the moment as we have Gibson and Hitzlserger who do a good shift in that position anyway.

I think if we defend as well as we did saturday we will start to pick wins up. It's easier to defend when that's your main focus though.

We are always strong second half so it bodes well for us.

Norwich at home. Next.

I'm sorry mate but we used him like Fellaini and hoofed it to him all day. I was at the game almost having a fume-induced coronary.

If we have someone else behind him and you know, play through balls or pass it to feet, maybe we'll have a better return from him.

I don't get this idea that Fellaini stops us playing, though. I was at that game too and it proved to me that Fellaini isn't the reason Jagielka and Heitinga can't pass, he just manages to make their aimless hoofs look better by doing something with them.

Mirallas will make all the difference lads I'm sure..

Early season we mixed it up with occasional long balls to Fellaini and plenty of fancy football. Without mirallas and Gibson we'v gone a bit more direct to Fellaini. Hopefully with both back well be back on track.

Jelavic hasn't had decent service this last few weeks. Hopefully that will change too

Eh?

1. We've just got a point at City
2. Fellaini scored our goal & now has 8 this season, so if we've been "worked out" they've not found a way of stopping him.........
3. We'd have kept a clean sheet if the ref hadn't gifted them a penalty

I'm talking about the last 8 games, not one game.

Felli doesn't stop us playing, but the long ball approach only suits him, not Jelavic. Fellaini can play it on the deck too, and Jelavic and him have scored some good goals this season with us doing that (the Felli flick assist comes to mind). But whilst Fellaini can also thrive when we take the aerial approach, Jelavic generally can't.

He's a slotter not a slogger.

But the thing is I don't think the aerial approach is only happeneing because Fellaini is there (like you said he can play on the ground and we played aerial even against norwich when he wasn't there).

There seems to be a general opinion that as soon as we drop Fellainii back our defenders will suddenly start playing it short all the time. I don't think they will, I think we could have tyrion lannister up front and Jagielka and Heitinga will still hoof it up the field at the first opportunity.

You're probably right, we spent the first half of last season hoofing it and Fellaini was nowhere near the balls.

I wouldn't be against dropping fellaini back to a deeper role alongside Gibson and then using a more creative footballer behind Jelavic. Or Naismith.

Its an option, teams need options, they also need to use them rather than sticking to one game plan.

But we played a good few games after signing Jelavic where we played it on the deck and created good opportunities for him without resorting to the hoof.

Also I can't agree with your implication that it's Jags/Heitinga's idea to hoof it. If Moyes didn't want them to do it, then they wouldn't -- it's that simple. This is Moyes ffs.

Swansea, West Ham, Stoke and Arsenal are all way too close to us for my liking.

haha, football's changed a lot in 3 years for a toffee to be saying arsenal are too close to us for my liking. i doubt we'll be too far apart from them this season, they're still a very good team, just gash compared to the last two decades. The others will eventually fade away from our sight though, it's still early enough in the season for them to be close, maybe the same could be said about WBA as well. even sunderland went on a mazy run when o'neil 1st took over, stuff like that happens. at the end of the season, the table finishes as deserved
