Had a google, some interesting stats for 2007/2008 and previous year:

• Aston Villa will reap £42.3million after finishing in sixth place, compared with the £22.4million they collected in the 2006-07 season.
• Everton, too, have earned a huge improvement, with their fifth place, banking a cheque of £42.1million, compared with £25.3million last year.

Sorry, didn't realise this story already had a thread.

That self-serving elite: the 'Big Four', the FA Premier League and SKY aren't about to derail a good thing for themselves. It's going to take a massive depression in football consumption to make them think twice about reorganising the way club's are allowed to operate financially.

Anyway, for us, I think it screams out takeover and investment urgently required.

You would like to think. This is the way I see it. Clearly its not all black and white.

The prizemoney from this year covers our wage bill. We have debts to pay off, which possibly takes the ST sales out. Which leaves us with gate reciepts, sponsorship and merchadising to fund player sales.

Oh and whatever little back hander the board wish to take and let us not forget that Kirkby has clearly cost us some money up to this point. Maybe, possibly.
